To all the Triple Fi 10 Appreciaters out there, would this be a good decision ?

Trading them for a pair of DBA-02 iem's ?

I've never listened to the DBA-02 (obviously) and the only IEM's I've ever tried were the TF10, UE700. Super Fi  5pro, and the Shure535.

I like the TF10's High's and Lows and I admit the mids are lacking, but I've had them for so long it feels like I need something "more" !.

The Shure535 I tried for a few minutes and noticed I really like the "fit", but the sound was a bit warmer than the TF10 and maybe more spacier (soundstage) ?

Anyways, I have an offer for a trade my TF10's for DBA-02.... I have no idea if I should do it because;

- I've read mixed reviews about the DBA-02's

- They're completely different than the TF10's....

And yea.. dont know what else to say.

I wouldn't mind trading my TF10's for some Shure535's though.

Let me know your thoughts people !!

Maybe a nice cable for the tf10s, I hear it can improve it greatly; however, I have no personal experience.

No, don't trade it for DBA-02, the two are completely different and they complement each other...

Buy the after market cable, chris_himself's or Null Audio's, I am using Null Audio's Arete and it does improve the mid

From what i heard, the dba's are treble heavy and thin on the bass, if that's what you are looking for, then great, otherwise ......... it sounds like you are hasty about this decision, or just want something new to hear, i dunno. If you are serious, try to read more about the dba's, just don't pull the trigger so fast. I bought the atrio m5 awhile back, gave them away too soon, then bought them again, i'm for sure going to keep them this time around, especially with the newer mg7 drivers in them. I also have the tf10, and in my opinion, they are the technically best sounding i own thus far, even with the behind the scenes mids, so i don't kno what you wish to expect with the dba's, different sounding, yes, better ? i dunno ...........

Hmm, thanks for the replies guys, all very interesting / informative.

Yes I do have a upgraded cable (Made by ChrisHimself , here on headfi)  that pairs well with my TF10's, BUT the microphonics are incredibly intense, I can barely hear my music with that cable (when I'm moving around) and also it's INCREDIBLY stiff. it does not flex ( barely moves ! ). So because of that I don't use it. I would love my TF10's if I could practically USE that cable but it's impossible.

So maybe one option for me would be to have another cable upgrade ? ( Thought there's maybe literally 100 aftermarket cables out there..... great )

I think I'm just going to check out "Multi-aftermarket cables for custom IEMs and TF10 evaluation thread (13 cables evaluated)". And go from there....

Man,... the audio pleasure business can be a hassle sometimes ( in a good way ).

*I probably going to be venturing into custom IEM territory in the near future, but I still want to have a good universal IEM at my side, so there's a good 70% chance im gonna hold onto the TF10's*

I wouldn't do that. I think TF10 are worth more than DBA-02.
