In need of help with my setup!! Plugged everything in but music still plays from my Laptop...

Okay guys so I finally got all my parts in and cords and all and now I am too retarded to get it to work properly!! Lol please help me if you can...here is what I have going on.

 

Macbook Pro connecting by an asynchronous usb cable to my MF V Dac 2 which is connecting by a white and red rca cable to my Matrix M stage amp which my hd650's are plugged in to...

 

the inputs seem to be right, my computer is picking up the dac, yet when i try to play a song it goes through my laptop speakers rather than my headphones

 

PLEASE HELP I WANT TO EXPERIENCE AUDIO NIRVANA!!

Make sure the default device is the dac... not sure how to do this on a MAC though.

okay! so i figured out how to get it to play through my setup but now i see that I can't control volume using the built in volume controls on my keyboard...is this a common feature of all dacs/can i turn it off?

Yes, your volume should now be controlled just via your M Stage. Though software volume controls will still work (i.e. your media players).

okay true well i guess that simplifies life..only having to worry about 1 volume control

Lots of people have the same issues, since they think default settings will automatically go to their DACs.
