So hears the situation. I just recently bought a new a pair of Pro 900s after doing a fair amount of research and lurking in this forum for a long time. After receiving them this morning, turns out their must be a bad connection somewhere and I'll be returning them soon. Even though it's probably just bad luck, I'm a little apprehensive to get another pair of Ultrasones, so I'm looking for suggestions for my $500 give or take budget.
I don't know if I would consider myself a basshead, but I do listen to a pretty stead mix of electronic, hip hop, and alternative/indie rock. I liked the idea that the Pro 900s had heavy bass and was one of the main reasons I wanted to try them, but it's not necessarily the most important thing to me. The other pair I had been looking at was the Denon 5000, which seems to have great sound quality reviews and a little more neutral sound signature, but I read a few places that the build quality wasn't the greatest.
So if you would be so kind as to give your opinion on the 5000 or recommend another pair at this price point for what I'm after, I would be forever grateful =D
