DAP with or without amp to drive can with big ohm

Hello,

There is a lot of DAP (with very SQ) like :

Hifiman HM-601 / HM-602 / HM-801

HiSoundAudio Studio-V

Colorfly C4

Cowon J3

Teclast T51

Is it necessary to use an amp with these dap to drive a can with 250 or 300 or higher ohm ?

In fact some of thus DAP are very expensive ! And some of these have a low capacity and/or short playing time and/or too big and/or very bad ui :(

If you use an ipod or an iphone with a LOD cable with a portable amp, is it the same SQ than just one of these DAP ?

Thanks !

These DAPs can drive 300 Ohm headphones but not to high volume level and S:Flo2(line out signals are loud on this DAP)with iBasso PB2 or XM6(upgradeed buffer 634 allow full one watt)canbe very good portable setup for high impedance headphones.

Thanks for the reply !

In fact, i'm very apple and i have a lot of ipod and iphone.

But i would like to buy a new DAP :

with one lineout to put a portable amp

just to listen music (no video, no fm, ...)

a good playing time

not expensive

Do you have any suggestion ?

Thanks.

My Sennheiser 650's are 300 ohms, and without an amp, my iPod Touch just cannot do them justice. I have, and love the TTJV Slim amp. I really like a warmer sound with rolled off highs, and this is a perfect combo. There are not many DAP's that are music only. Most have at least video. I also have an older iPod video 5G (the 30GB model) and it is one of the best iPods. My impression is that you're somewhat new to head gear, so I would suggest this. Go slow, read a lot, listen to everything you can get your hands on, and decide what YOU like in a sound signature. Then find gear that can provide that sound in the price range you want. Also - does it have to be portable? As much as I thought I'd go portable with my TTJV and iPod and Senns, I NEVER do. I always leave the amp and full size cans and just go with the iPod alone and my Yuin buds. Take your time, and enjoy the journey - that is a big part of the hobby. Cheers!

Thanks :)

I read a lot :)

So there isn't a lot of DAP with lineout !

And effectivly, i have an old ipod 20giga and i think i'm using this one with a lod and portable amp !

Hifiman, ColorFly, StudioV, iBasso : it's very very expensive !!! and for of them, there is a short playing time and a very low capacity !

It's not normal for this price ! Because you put at least flac files !

But if somebody have any suggestions, you're welcome !
