What amp should I choose?

Thread Starter

Ok I just got some Sennheiser Hd-558s but I will be running them on my iPod Touch 4g. I am wondering what amp to get. I have no clue at all which one i need, and what one gives the best volume. I mean I am completely clueless. Fiio amps look pretty good. I would like the amp to be just as small or smaller than my iPod. I just spent a bunch of money on headphones, so under $50 sounds about right. Also, what do these line out docks do?

Thank You

Cmoybb from JDSlabs in your price range. I prefer the CmoyBB sound with an AD8066 or AD8620 with my Senn HD558's when compared to my E10 or E6 from Fiio...

it really depends. there is no $50 fiio amp and most amps are $60 at the range u are looking at. i don't own the E11. i've bought the E17 which is extremely similar but haven't compared it yet to give you an idea. The JDlabs and PA2V2 are said to have a clearer sound than the E11 (don't own the two. just stuff i heard. it's best u go read and determine for urself) if you want some bass impact on the Sennheisers. then the fiio E11 might be what you want. go ask someone httat owns the 558 and E11. there are a lot of them. most odn't go on tis part of the forums

Fiio E6 with Fiio "L" cable (to plug into LOD port)

Cmoy headphone amplifier, eBay has them for $30 on up.
