The ATH-CKM50. The CKM family impressions..(First look at the NEW CKM500)..Pg 86 - Page 7

I've had a pair of these for several years now, but I don't like them much.  They do have a pretty fun sound, but the mids are seriously lacking for me.  One of my all-time favorites in terms of comfort though.  I've been curious about the CKM30 and 33 for a while so I'll be interested in your opinion on those.

Will do for sure. I figure these CKM50 would be a solid foundation for any of the newer CKMs to compare to. I will have all of them soon enough and will compare the sound on all of em. The way AT is you never know which one will stand out.. CKM33, CKM55, Ck303, CKM77?

@ericp10. Those starting to open up for you? I think the highs actually get better after burn and overall sound gets much smoother too. For the guys that love your vocals..Vocal trance and even Jazz. Oh man I can die a happy man just listening to these.

Yes they are Dsnuts. I am using the MEEL 110 double-flange silicon tips (wider opening on these tips). Bass is massive!! But the bass isn't overshadowing the mids or treble. These made my lossless Miles Davis "So What" track sound like near heaven. Still burning in though...more later...

By the way Joe. I can safely say if you want an upgrade to how the SHE3580 sounds. I can tell you these are the true upgrades to how the Philips phones sound. I bet you can track one down in Hong Kong. No? Wait till I get the newer CKM models I will tell everyone on this thead what is up with the newer CKM phones.

CONGRATS  Dsnuts, you made it to the magic 1500, part ways into the your CKM50 thread.

Yeah, you know, I don't really know what I'm talking about, just trying to figure out what is the best deal, the CKM50 or the frame for my license plate (front one I guess!).

Both items will arrive in the same package, hopefully soon, and then I will decide which one of the two bargains I consider to be the best deal and shortly after post my impressionswink_face.gif

Here's the thing about these IEMs. You have to get a good fit or these want sound good to you. And professional reviews I've read clearly indicate that these won't fit everyone's ears. They fit my ears perfectly. They need to sit in deep right at the beginning of the ear canal (don't know the official name of that part of the ear). They don't really go into the canal deep, but need to sit right on the canal. So that means the earphone's body need to sit within your ear.

True nuff. But thank the lord all mighty that we went from  MP8320 14.2mm drivers, to Isurus 13.5mm, to these CKM50 12.5mm.. Each one of these fit in the same way. And with each one more and more comfier. lol!.

I was considering buying a pair, but the price went back up.

Would someone who managed to pick one up be willing to sell a pair to me for $25? Please PM me and let me know.

Fear not! Ebay.Com has a metric ****ton of these for $27.25/free shipping. Came to be $35 and change with faster shipping.

I'm thinking the deal ended at Midnight.

I just checked and the price was over $45.

I found a few US based sellers on Ebay for around $28 but I'm weary since Audio Technica would be a brand that could be counterfeited.

The fake Sony's and Sennheiser are all over the place.....including possibly fake M50s' which I know popped up at one time.

Posted before I read this one.

Let me know how yours look and if you think they're legit I'll snatch a pair.

We can compare pics of the packaging to the units purchased from Amazon.

The Ebay sellers are from NJ so that could go either way being so close to NY which is a hub for counterfeit goods.

I should get mine by the 31st. Just a matter of patience.

The CKM50 kinda fell through the radar, so I'm a bit doubtful about them being counterfeit products, but I'll report in ASAP.

I wouldn't worry too much bout counterfeit CKM50s. The seller has a pretty good return policy and >99.5% rating

Well they still cost over $200 bucks here: http://mailonsales.com/product.php?productid=250561
