You're right, price is already up at $47..I believe that Selenium picked up the last pair at $24.20 :-)

Much like the isurus post this one wasn't supposed to go up today but you can thank Ericp10 as he kinda spilled the beans on them but it was actually my fault as I forgot to mention the plan for this thread was gonna be my 1500th post. Lol! But the more I thought about it. With Amazon dropping their price recently on these and it is only Amazon by the way,  why not.. I can't hide these from you guys. You guys just need to hear these.

Believe me if these weren't worth all the research I did for them they would have nothing to do with this thread but indeed they so deserve a thread. At this price they are selling these for these have raised the bar over the isurus and any other sub $30 iem. Not the soundmagics. Not the panasonic HJE450, not the UE500. These are a leap in SQ over anything up to and many over a $100 imo. There is a reason why these cost $100 when they were released. But at less than $25. I say to everyone that reads this thread to get one or you will miss out on one of the best dynamic iems at any price. Let alone what we are paying for them now.

I am using the stock tips but I believe ri-toast is using the tried and true Sony hybrids.. I am sure as many of you guys get them we will find out the best tips for these but the stock ones aren't terrible. I use them and have no issues what so ever. I haven't even tried any other tips actually. Had no need to.

Isolation is solid as the driver is kinda big but smaller than the isurus and the huge MP8320 14mm drivers. These are 12.5mm.. I think even guys with smaller/medium sized ears should have no issues with the fit on them. Microphonics is average at worst. I have heard plenty worse from other ie Philips SHE3580 and plenty less ie Panasonic HJE450. So in microphonics these are right in the middle. Build quality is solid and a good value as you get a very nice medium sized pouch that can fit an MP3 player with ease with them and has pockets in the inside that can hold extra tips/ memory cards.  These have a short 2 ft cord and then you get a 3 ft extension.

Same here, lol. Guess they caught on to the surge of sales :o. Thankfully for those who might want a pair in the future there are a few reputable vendors on ebay selling them for about $28

PS - Can anyone comment on the build of these? Are they pretty solid like most AT's ive read about?

Edit - Nvm, just read through Dsnuts' post above

These were $200 when they first came out? Quite the price droppage.

Well don't know if it is because of the rash of CKM50 sales but they just raised the price on them lol!. That sucks..Well then I would go for the white ones. Those are cheaper now.

And I bet that is what Amazon was planning to do raise the price of the cheaper $25 ones above the white ones so people can start getting the white ones.

Solid deal at $40. I would try ebay to get it cheaper. Again there are plenty of these floating around as these were completely overlooked when they came out.

Well, at least I got mine for $24.20 including a 80 cent black license frame added to get free shipping, upgrading my car!

The normal pricing I have seen these at Amazon for is $35-$40...The main reason why I jumped the gun a bit on the thread as I was hoping they would keep it at $25 for at lest a day after the thread. Damn.

@ericp10. Those starting to open up for you? I think the highs actually get better after burn and overall sound gets much smoother too. For the guys that love your vocals..Vocal trance and even Jazz. Oh man I can die a happy man just listening to these.

Hey if it wasn't for you Ds, I wouldn't have found the bit of sound sig heaven for me in the Isurus. Thanks, meng! Now the wait for the CKM50 comes.

Well, they moved "Sold by Electronics Basket and Fulfilled by Amazon" up to the top and the price is $23.98. Have at it fence sitters!

lol price is back down.

Well I certainly find this thread interesting, for several reasons. The funny thing is that I actually sort of disagree with several of the things that Dsnuts has said.
I bought the ATH-CKM50's a while back, probably a good year or so now (has it really been that long?). I got them when I had a $50 Best Buy gift card and they were on sale online there, yep, bought them from BB and not Amazon.
The sound quality is great -- when you're listening at medium to low levels. If you plan on using them any louder, look elsewhere. Well, maybe not that far, but they certainly loose their "smoothness." The highs start to become harsh and the bass starts to lose control. You know, they start to sound like *gasp* an Audio Technica 'phone! The U shaped FR curve shows its head. And this acutally happens more than you might think. I had a pair of Phillips SHE9550 and compared to them, the isolation on these (CKM50) is... well bad. It block some noise. I guess. If it's already pretty quiet. If you want to use these on the bus, as they say, forgettaboutit! You'll have to turn them up enough to drown out the noise and then you lose their SQ. Also, the build quality seems to me to be a bit slim. Now, I did say "seems" because I have fallen asleep with these on and layed on them all night several times and they still turned out just fine, haven't broken them yet. I guess they've stood up.

So yea, not trying to bash them or anything, just thought I'd qualify some of the things said, they certainly aren't the greatest ever, but for under $30? Sweet deal.

Yeah, I'm selling my pair... the license plate frames, not the CKM50 blink.gif

I still think the isurus has enough of a difference in sound signature to have as a different sounding pair. But a bit of warning once you hear these. You guys will hear something new in dynamics over the isurus.. As much as I loved hearing music through them TT isurus. These took me to another level of immersion it was unreal.. I was all smiles when I first heard these after a days worth of burn..I couldn't believe what I was hearing.. Now hopefully I will get to share that experience with you guys that trust my judgement on these..Now as with every single thread I have ever written not everyone will like them for what ever reason may be.

It is neigh impossible to please everyone. Oh and if any of you guys are doubting the value of these even at $40.. My UE500 which are actually very good solid sounding earphones. And these were on sale from $70 I believe to $40. These don't even come close..They sound nice actually but what I was missing was the layering of sound. The bold dynamics and richness of tone in all regions of the CKM50..I will do a more detailed impression of the UE500 on the TT isurus thread maybe tomorrow.  But whats the point. These CKM50s beat the tard out of what those are trying to do. There is no comparison imo...

See now isolation is funny though for earphones. It all depends on how they fit for ones ears as we all have different shaped ears. I get above average isolation for earphones with these. Again it might be a sound preference thing as well as I love how these sound I even eq it to be more of a V/W shape..These to my ears are exactly what I was looking for in dynamics..Don't know if it is because I am used to the extended highs of the isurus but I find the highs on these just perfect. Bass is very ample for my tunes and so far it has hit every sub bass note in every bass heavy tune I have so I am happy on that end as well. The mids.. Lol.. You guys be the judge. I am interested in everyones take on these that is for sure.
