Noobie question

All of my music files are AAC at 256 kbps. Does it behoove me to go lossless if I use the Beyerdynamic DT1350 I bought and use an amplifier? Will I notice a difference? I was told that the human ear cannot detect a difference between 256 kbps and lossless (or CDs), even with good audio equipment.

it wont be amazingly different but if you want the best of the best sure go for it.

The study you read was off a lot or something. you will notice it. Getting a good amp and lossless CD ripped files is important for audiophile music. Most consumer's that don't have audiophile gear and stuff don't know. Most Beyer's like the FiiO amps. i don't know, i don't own them(the beyer's that is). just to give u some insight, read some reviews do some stuff. don't know if the FiiO amps provide good synergy with the DT1350 model

Do you have an ipod? seems like u do, it seems u also buy music off itunes. Getting an FiiO L9 or L3 LOD is also a good step.not the L1. that cable is obsolete compared to the other two.

Do not go converting ur current AAC 256kbps music into apple lossless. it is a "noobie" mistake.

Any other questions? elaborations?

Yes I will be using an iPhone and a portable amp/dac to take my music listening experience to a higher level.  I am going the Fiio route because of its cheaper price and to sort of get my feet wet while I learn more about audiophile gear etc.  Thank you for the feedback and have a good one.
