Replace or buy new? Shure

I've been reading a bunch of reviews for IEMs in my price range (~100-150)

I currently have dying Shure E2C (they've been replaced twice for free in the last 5 years) and these are all I've listened to.

Shure will charge me $49+tax to send them in for Scl2 or $68+tax for the SE215s. I would go for the SE215s if I replace them through Shure, however I've never tried other brands or earphones and read great reviews on Westone as well.

Would SE215 for $68+tax be my best option for this price range in terms of sound and comfort? These would be every day earbuds from subway, walking around and gym.

As for musical preference I listen to pretty much everything from indie rock, electronic, hip-hop and classical.

I'm not sure I can beat the $68 but would be willing to spend up to $150 if I can.

Thanks

No one that viewed has an opinion on if SE215 for $68 would be better than anything I could get around 150? :\

At $68 bucks that is a great price. As for spending $150, that puts you in the price area of TF10's and for a few bucks more the GR-07. Now I dont have, or have ever heard the GR-07, but the TF10's blow away the SE215. The area the TF10 might not do as well as the SE215, is at the gym. I did find the SE215 to be great at staying in place. Of course our ears are different so you might not have issues.

The street price on SE215 is $99.00 so I do not think they are offering you such a fantastic deal.  Maybe spend more and try a BA design.  I use the 215's for casual/recreational listening and have a bit of a love/hate relationship with them only because they would be absolutely terrific if it were not for the disjointed and bloated bass.  I do use them with with "thin" sounding portable sources with pretty good results.  Still, they had the potential to be so much better...

What's a BA design?

Thanks for input, I read the TF10 were kind of large/uncomfortable.  My ears are kind of small, I'll look at the gr-07 though.

Also that's about 30% for the SE215...seems decent enough to me (as far as deals go for replacing with a 6 year old model)?

BA stands for Balanced Armature, its the type of drivers inside the earpiece.
