FLAC Bitrate on diferent genders

Thread Starter

Something that I noticed sometime by now and that have been bugging me. I have many CD(16 bits/44.1 kHz) rips to flac on my PC, using FLAC with the same compression level (7 I think), from both classical and modern(metal, rock, etc) genders.

In average, what I saw is that the average bitrate of the flac files is greater in the Metal CDs than in the Classical CDs, for example, bitrates on Aqua(from Angra) are about 800-900 kbps, and Bach's Goldberg Variations by Glen Gould are about 400-500 kbps.

Is this normal?

Yes....the bitrate is related to the complexity of the music.
