This may sound naive, but maybe for e.g. revolver don't give a release date at all. Preparing for deadlines which are missed by a long shot is the most painful thing of all.

Well that's a bit of a misconception then; there was never any official "release date" of this pre-order batch. I reckon people who pre-ordered (myself included) are fine with that and understood from the onset that we joined a pre-release phase. When the whole production process is finalized, no doubt V-moda will give an official release date.

It's the pros and cons of what Val calls "semi-open source development" in that members and the general public are constantly hounding him for a release deadline. But unlike random facebook posts, Val does legitimately want input from the audiophile community for his headphone development and does treat us with a very intimate look at what he's doing. So we get some perks like the opportunity to preorder ahead of anyone else, but that does imply some sort of ETA.

Granted, he's developed enough experience through the M-100 development and might not elect to prompt a Revolver release date, but it's as what gets oft emphasized in this thread. It's a headphone. We'll be getting it way ahead of anyone else, and it's neat to get something that's the product of input from the community. Just hold off your haste until the promised day arrives.

Hey Val, is it possible to hold off engraving on the extra custom shields until you get more brushed metal shields in?  Or do we have no choice but to pick from the other available shield colors?

I second that!

I'm still wondering if the change of shields mean we have to wait longer for our cans to arrive. That would really suck.

I choose midnight blue, I think it might look kind of nice even if I'd prefer the brushed metal.

Brushed blue would be cool.

Yes, you can. I've already done it.

I just received your company's email about the inability to engrave brushed metal shields. Is it possible to just have the shields shipped to me at a later date at cost to me? I don't have much interest in any other color, especially since the white VTF-100s already come with silver shields.

We unfortunately will not receive extra brushed metal shields for the customs in time for M-100 shipment. If you would like them to ship later, we can do that, but it won't be until later this year.

I just sent v-moda a email asking if I can do that too.

I think it's a bit too late now. I probably shouldn't have mentioned it at all, because I asked way back on September 27th, and I don't want to have started a wave of requests.

If you guys have already had your second shields engraved, don't you think it would be kind of unfair to ask for them to be changed now?

I have never gotten an email back from customs, only support@vmoda.com. The time when they emailed about the brushed shields was the one time I have ever gotten anything from them.

Edit: My point being that they don't like to talk often but they'll do.

I don't think so, but I don't really know. I'd say that it's pretty unlikely given how fast my shields have come, so hopefully we're just waiting for the boom mics
