So I missed out on the VTF preorder (I had no idea this was happening and hate myself for it!). Is there a projected idea of when we lowly commoners can order/buy the M-100's?

Never mind.. I see the 70 day thing.... I guess I will have to buy another pair of M-80's immediately (my last pair were stolen recently) because I can NOT live like this for much longer... I hate to do this knowing that the M-100's are right around the corner but I can not wait that long and not have any V-Moda's in my life (I travel CONSTANTLY and need these to stay sane)! Guess I'll just be buying both... :-/

I know what you mean! Perhaps quite fortunately I'm off on holiday soon so I kinda hope they will be sat on my desk when I come back.

Hey just to pass the time: What equipment are people most looking forward to plugging the M-100's into when they get them. I assume most of us who've placed the pre-order have also got the M-80 so we'll be comparing it to that, but what else are people going to be comparing it to? I'm curious how they will compare to the Denon D-7000, although yeah that might be a little unfair. I'm also looking to source some SoundMAGIC HP100's very soon, I wonder how they will compare...

I'm looking forward to plugging it into my Macbook Pro with a Fiio E17 that's on the way from Amazon as we speak. And ofcourse my desktop PC + AMP. :)

I'll be comparing it to the M80's, M50's, the horrid beats line, Sennheiser 598 and so on. :)

Hey daphen, I've been meaning to say hi to you for a while and thank you for using my photo of the M-80 as your avatar, that made me happy smily_headphones1.gif. Anyway, what is your desktop amp? I will be using the Shonyun SH-301 pro, as well as the DAC/amps in my SIG. I'd be interested in the comparisons to the M50... and Beats of course, but that's just for a laugh smily_headphones1.gif.

Oh and congrats on the E17, that should make a nice pairing.

I'll be using the M80s + Rocoo P for portable use. As for my desktop, I only have a mic preamp that I plug into. I'm not sure what it does for audio, but I do know it gets rid of my computer hiss :). Really looking to see what other people will be using so I can steal some ideas...and hopefully theyll be affordable.

I said a number of pages back before, but I do plan on listening to the M-100 unamped for at least the first week of owning it before I write a review, and then I'll try having it go through my iPod Classic + Digizoid ZO2 portable amp on the go, and at home, my MacBook Pro + FiiO E9i.

For desktop setup I'll be using M-100 with O2+ODAC. I'll be comparing it against M50, DT990 Pro 250Ohms and DT770 Pro 80Ohms.

 

Gonna test with E17 if it's not been sold away yet then.

When I'm mobile I usually use the M80s plugged into my Samsung Galaxy S3.  My 'transportable' rig (e.g. at my desk while at work) is the same, but then I use the Leckerton UHA-6S.MKII dac/amp attached to the phone via OTG cable (amazing little amp!).  The M100 is intended to take the place of the M80s for mobile use - if all goes well my girlfriend will probably inherit the M80s.  That's if I can let them go - they're so awesome, I keep finding myself using them at home as well, and ignoring my Denon D2000 and Grado RS1i and SR125.  If the M100s really turn out to be better than the M80s it's quite likely that I'd end up using them at home a lot too.

I should also mention I'll be comparing these against what headphones I have in my possession right now, so the Allen & Heath Xone XD-53's, the Audio-Technica ATH-Pro700MK2ANV's, and the Sennheiser HD598's.

wow you ignore your RS1i over the M-80 already?! I would suggest selling them to fund something else, but then I realised that the price of the RS1i is probably not as high there as it is here.

My M-80's are already claimed by the wife, I didn't get much of a say in that, but that was my fault for insisting that she try them instead of her Denon D1100 :P.
