V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc. - Page 165

I have a strong feeling that this has something BIG to do with one of the unannounced features of the M-100's...

"we may be based in Hollywood, but we're developing our very own SILICONE in Japan for our audiophile gear... TUNE IN TOKYO!!! #MadeinJapan #BigInJapan -VK"

Who agrees with me? If not - what do you think it is? When do you think it will be announced?

Great choice, maybe I'll listen to The Wall straight through since I haven't played in awhile.  I may sound like and old fogie saying this, but they don't make concept albums like they used to. The Wall and Quadrophenia by The Who are, IMO, both in the top 10 greatest albums of all time.

^^Totally agreed.  Perhaps we're both old fogies.  lol.  I think the Wall is one of the best pieces of work I've ever heard.

The Wall is a classic, but I also believe The Final Cut is a helluva sequel; The Wall is Roger Water's coming to terms with his past, and The Final Cut is the jaded/cynical resignation that things are screwed that comes afterward when he is dealing with what was his "present" and "growing up" (at that time), imo.

Another RW album (solo) that probably wouldn't be a bad listen early on would be Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking.  He had quite the all-star line up for performers (Michael Kamen on Keyboards, Eric Clapton on guitar, and David Sanborn on sax,etc)...

All of this Wall talk, no one mentions Meddle? Imagine listening to that album all the way through with the M-100's, especially when we reach Echoes!

Also, While being a Who fan and A Floyd fan, I am absolutely a Doors fan.

Any news on discounts for head-fiers?

Can anyone say whether this headphone will sound like the M-50 or the Sony MDR-V6? Those are the two best, according to Amazon ratings. Also, will it have good base? One more thing, will it be noise-canceling? Thx. I really like Skullcandy Hesh and Beats, but after 3 pairs of each I want a new look. I'm not really buying for the sound...

I too go blindly into Amazon and let the free market decide what expensive pair of headphones I'll splurge my money on. In any case, we all have different tastes in sound. Going for the highest rating headphone may or may not be the best fit for you. Anyway, to answer your questions, no one except Val and Anakchan have listened to them, so we can't really say. They're supposed to have the M-80 sound with a bit more oomph on the bass, which is a very good thing in terms of sound quality. No noise canceling, but imo noise isolating headphones work as good if not better than noise cancelling headphones. And if it's looks you want it's looks you get. Customizable shields, plus the superb sound expected of the M-80's. It's the whole package here.

Sorry man, but I was just joking about all that. It's my way of keeping myself entertained while waiting for Val & Co. to release the M-100. I was the second poster in this thread back on page 1, and I've read every post about the M-100 at least once. I've seen the thread devolve into speculation, competition (from myself included!), trolling, whining, begging, and everything else in between-- only to be pulled back to reality by photos, hints,  and updates from Val. I don't post too often on this thread any more because pretty much everything has been said over and over again. At this point I'm just twiddlin' my thumbs and keepin' patient! Best of luck!

Almost successful troll, the only thing that gave it away was your post count and avatar :3

I've been had! Hahaha, I needs me some more sleep.

One thing I'm a bit curious about is the weight. I remember that in ljokerl's headphone shootout he mentioned that the LP's weren't too comfy because of their weight whereas the M80's were comfier in terms of weight because of the difference in size. I wonder how that'll play out for the M-100's.

To me, this is the best sound I've ever heard, if you don't agree, it is okay.  But our team has found its "holy audiophile grail".

I don't know how to make Revolver sound better, ****.  At least today...

Wow this is a bold statement but I'm excited if it's true. What other top-tier headphones have you heard that the M100 is better than in your opinion?

Cheers,
