So with that said, is it still worth getting the m100s or should I wait for these master editions getting released, which they may incorporate the technology in possible newer revision of the m100s?

The m100s are around what? 2 years old? Not sure if that is considered old old, as I don't know the duration between new revisions in headphones. (If that makes sense) lol.

I have own m-100 for one year already. What's this master edition ? just a new color line or change the driver ?

The new master editions are a limited release that incorperates new driver tweaks on the m-100 and xs. The release is limited to 500 units each.

When and where do we get the limited editions?

Master Edition made from less brittle plastic. I like the sound of that.

lol that is a b$ strategy. if you improve the driver technology, release it as a new product. special editions are just a way to hike up the price. i strongly disapprove.

edit: omg watching that tyll advertising video hurt my eyes. considering that the m100s standard edition is already considered overpriced for their sonics... lol masters edition. they are balloting to see how much more you are willing to fork over?? wowwww.... that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

The only difference in sound would be the sonics, and maybe a bit less bass and more treble. Not worth it just for practically the same headphone, worth it if you don't own either the XS or M100 already.

Hey fellas.. My xl pads are arriving tomorrow.. Just wanted to show how I customized my shields in the meantime, in the meantime.. Lol. They're finished with a decent amount of thin coats of satin clear coat, and I painted the hardware a metallic gold. Let me know what ya think

Fudge it, even though 2 year old. I bought these yesterday and I'm loving them so far!

The guy at the shop was surprised that I went straight for the m100s and he was like "Dang, I wouldn't normally recommend these or mention these to people but you come in straight away and ask for these" Lol. Not sure whether his intentions are good or bad though.

Very nice work. You might want to post to the V-MODA Shield Design Discussion also with a short description of materials and procedure, people might be interested in the technique.

Hey guys! I can say that i'm VERY SATISFIED with my m100s since I bought them summer 2013 X)

Aside from my shields and xl cushions I really love the sonics of them with my current amp! First I had Fiio e5, which didn't do much of a difference. Then I got the e11, which made the sound a bit clearer and more enjoyable, and the instrument separation and soundstage more accurate. Now I have the e17 and i'm probably staying with this set for many years to come!

I think that the e17 almost perfects the sound, doing an even better job than the e11 on soundstage, separation and clarity. More than that it also makes the bass punchy and controlled, and with the amp setting (-2db treble and -4db bass) I think that the sound through usb is gratly balanced, slightly salted with bass :p

have to agree with previous posters, although I own the m100, i think it is priced slightly high for it's sq, but i am satisfied with the overall package.  unless the master editions are the same retail price as the m100, count me out.
