The GR07 BEs are by far the best IEM I've found to compliment the M100s for gym use. And I've tried virtually every headphone under 300. It was a brutal trip but I am glad I finally found the "end game" for the gym at least. Thank goodness they canceled the discontinuation of it. Too many people dig it I guess.
I found that they have a more aggressive treble response. One of my friends has one and the treble spike always gets to me whenever I listen to it. >.>

If you're experiencing discomfort or pain then the volume is too high.

well it could be that he's sensitive to the siblance

as much as i love the gr07 be, which i absolutely do. they did and still have that siblance (points that out on certain tracks)

i've learned to accept that, its a really really reallly minor quibble now everything else is just superb

even though they did cancel the discontinuation of it, IMO thats too expensive to take to the gym especially when its not really a gym earphone

its not water/sweat proof. the housing is durable (but once your in the gym durability is really tested, especially the cable (i love the cable) but just don't find it durable enough to use for gym) where it can get caught to your hands while running, dumbells. i could go on... lol

the only non-gym specific iem i would use is probably the shure se215, cable is rugged, detachable, and goes over the ear, no microphonics, the bassy sound is great for gym exercises. i dunno if the bass on the be edition would be enough during runs and when lifting

just imo

i don't own the se215 though just a thought

Yeah they have a treble spike that makes the treble sizzly and the upper-midrange has a bite that makes it bright. Objective measurements confirm that.

There's a lot of talk on here that isn't about the M100s...

And gym. Far too much talk of gym. I don't even know the guy.

For reference I'm using foobar 2000 with Windows 7 listening to Yello in FLAC (Thanks Zorrofox. Totally dig their sound) through a FiiO E17 at volume level 45 with zero gain docked with a FiiO E9 set at 9:30 on the potentiometer. I notice a volume difference switching between headphones (different driver sizes and impedance), but the cable has no noticeable effect.

They are already released?! I really want a pair.

They were released about three days back. Got mine today, here are the XS and the M-100 for a size comparison. XS are quite balanced sounding compared to the M-100, but the bass extends down low, without a lot of emphasis that the M-100 has. Treble and mid's are perfect.

AC Gears has them on demo! :D

Great. Now I need to decide on black or white. I'm leaning on white only to have a bit of variety.

That sounds like what I described the M-80 to sound like. I need more duplicate words in that sentence, hahaha.

Was waiting to order my m100s to see what the new release from v moda was. Now I can't decide which to get :(. Is the sound quality (details, sound stage, extension, etc) vastly different between the two? If not, my choice will probably be decided by whichever is more comfortable with glasses on. I was leaning towards over the ear style until I noticed how uncomfortable my hd598s were while wearing my new eye glasses (they are big I guess).

I tend to prefer on-ear with glasses because the earpieces don't affect the seal, but in this case ask yourself whether you want more neutral or more bass. That's it. Want more neutral? XS. More bass? M100.

Ok thanks! The xs seem like a better match for me :)
