^ what he said ^

I bought an 'expensive' cable because I could deal with the microphone of the stock cable and I wanted a kink-free cable. It might sound better but it might be just a placebo. There's no real need to spend a lot of money.

That RS cable looks nice...I want to get one too but I am trying to make up my mind with my black M-100 if I should get the black cable from RS...or wait until I decided if I am getting the midnight blue plates then get a more matching cable...or I can still go with black I guess :)

Due to the nature of the connector, it will not be moddable.

It's a pretty minor difference, but it's there. I A/B'd for a while and I think the difference is mostly a gentle boost in volume. Like I said, the stock VMODA cable apparently has a kinda high resistance.

I'm having connection issues with my E18 right now so I'm using my cans straight out of my Note 3 and I've got to say I'm not impressed. The V-Moda's definitely benefit from power.

Very soon power won't be a problem as I've ordered an O2 Desktop and ODAC XL from Switzerland. I'll be hooking that straight up to my Mac and life should be good again.

I think it was Ratinox who was saying earlier that the Sansa Clip+ would drive the M-100's no problem. I might get one of those since they're not expensive.

I think the stock V-MODA cables are fairly good, I recently bought the plain cable from there website a few days ago to go with my newly acquired M100s. The More I listen to the more amazed with there sound. I just wish the would adjust to my huge head here soon as the can be discomforting even after just 5 minutes.

Haha, I must be weird then, because I have a dang big head and these are about as "non clamped" as I'm comfortable with. I kinda like headphones that really hug to the cranium and whenever I try on a looser pair I just feel like they're gonna fall off. My biggest problem is any headphone that starts to slide off of me when I look downward or lie on my back. I'm not always upright when listening.

Funny you mentioned that because from my Xperia Z Ultra, the Sony mdr-x10 and the Sens Momentum both sound very lame from my phone yet the M-100 sounds pretty decent ..like a lot better than the other 2 although not as good as through the E18 of course but the Sens specially sounds pathetic and the mdr-x10 a total mess lol

It depends where we're living. I'm in Scotland and we have the Snapdragon processor but in some other markets the Exynos processor is used. Both processors use different DAC's I believe, although I don't know which specifically.

I could head bang with these and they would hardly move. It just has a little extra pressure right below my ear above where your jaw articulates.
