Do you guys know where I can purchase a shorter cable from?

Quick search on Amazon brings up:

A couple 1' mini USB cables (here and here),

a 7.5" mini USB cable,

a 6" mini USB cable, and

a 4" mini USB cable (packaged with a micro USB and Apple 30-pin cable)

Thank you very much!

Since they're not gold plated like the one that came with C5D, does that make much difference? or no?

It's a binary signal. It either makes it or it doesn't. The plating and whatnot might protect it from interference or wear and tear but that's all.

It's like on your DVD player. A two buck HDMI cable works just fine.

Now you can return the favor by letting us all know if it's a worthy purchase. XD

Also check Monoprice.

And yes, gold plating don't make anything sound better. Not digital. Not analog. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying, an ignoramus, or both. The purpose of the gold plating is to prevent corrosion. Copper corrodes. That green stuff that forms on copper coins is copper oxide. It is non-conductive. A corroded contact won't conduct electricity. Plate a copper contact with gold to keep the oxygen away and it won't corrode. Simple as that. Gold is used because plating with gold is super-easy.

Nickel alloys are also used nowadays for electrical contacts. Same corrosion resistance as gold for a much lower cost. Don't feel the need to buy gold plated anything if you can get nickel alloy instead for less. It won't sound any different -- see above about liars and ignoramuses -- and you'll save a few bucks.

Or get the official 3" V-MODA Tuono Lightning to USB cable.

My wife is gonna be pissed when I tell her my reasoning for buying her a nickel alloy tennis bracelet.

Lightning is not mini-USB.

Has anyone tried the a200p with the m-100?

Slim 3.5mm connectors came in today, so I just had to spend my evening making a new cable for my V-Moda Crossfade M100.

Mogami 3031 wire, Neutrik right angle 3.5mm jack, China special low profile 3.5mm jack, black 550 paracord for a nice and flexible sleeving and the whole lot baked together with silver solder...

Lovely job. How's the paracord in terms of microphonics?

Not the best there is, but really quite acceptable. But then again, that's only fiddling with the cable sitting at my desk. I'll let you know if I change my opinion after my lunchbreak walk tomorrow smily_headphones1.gif

I had a chance to whip out my M-100 for a snowboarding trip this past weekend :-

Along the way, bumped into a friend who had his Crossfade LP with him :-

So we had a quick Crossfade LP/M-100 session (as I had very little time with the Crossfade LP in the past). I do like my trebles so the M-100 won out on me. The Crossfade LP was a little too rolled off in the trebles for my liking. The same with my colleague but back when he bought the Crossfade LP, he didn't want to spend too much.
