Agreed, I'd love to try out the M100s and compare them to my M80s xD

@WiR3D

Congrats, knew that you would win it when I first saw your entry. It's nice to know that a fellow head-fi'er won it, but be sure to post some impressions when you get the thing !

This picture intrigues me! What is the artistic purpose of the one eye covered? I see a lot of these types of poses nowadays in ads everywhere.

Not trying to troll and maybe I'm just way to much of a Star Trek geek but when anyone else looks at the above picture do they think of the Borg.

Well, another "M" company.  V-MODA is paying tribute to the "analog age" companies in our vision of vanquishing the great compression and forging the future.

PS - that is me in the photo ;>

There have been setbacks, but I'm trying to release some earlier.  I'll know more next week.  We'd rather release a quality product that gets 6 star reviews than rush it to market.  I'm sorry, but that is just how we roll since we aren't a public/investor owned company.  It works best for us all LONG TERM.

YES.

Our sale strategy, like V-MODA is very different - Europe (UK/France/Italy/Germany et al) is my primary channel to progress in the next 3 months now that I've drastically altered USA + Asia.

JAPAN TOUR?

YES.  I'll setup a dinner when I'm in Tokyo and bring some new prototypes for feedback.  This will help to help in our final release, I didnt get TOO much feedback in LA on M-100 but it wasn't done with tooling so now it should be better to finalize the first PP (pre-production) run.

Racked my brain trying to figure this one out. I conlcuded the winning entry must have a clever message or caption tying in V-Moda with recycling. This doesn't seem to have been the case. So, now that it is over, can you tell us what the 'prerequisite trick' was?

Hi Val, while I am catching you online at all hours of the night, at least on the East coast (believe it or not, I am thinking about the M-100), are you able to answer any of my questions in post #1789?  I think some of them might even be good questions :)

Cool photo!

The VAMP/GoDAP isn't realistic at a $650 MSRP. The GoDAP sold meh in Asia at $450. I have the LP2s (love 'em) and think they're fantastic for the price, but you're pricing yourself out of this market with the VAMP. I love the idea of a all-in idevice/transport, but I wouldn't buy it at $450 (let alone $650) with the IP5 on it's way in Nov.

I'd be all over it at $300, but I suspect that's a tad under your cost in the channel. It would certainly extend the life of my IP4S. $399 is probably the peak of the elasticity curve.

Regardless, I hope you sell a million units! I'm def a buyer of the 100s.

I'm still holding out hope for the 'Right Brained' prize...  I posted this on the Recycle page, but in case you haven't seen it, here is the making of my entry.  Captions underneath the pics.

Just read through 121 pages of posts and images... so HYPED!

REALLY excited after looking at all of the images, rumors, and official information that has been given here! I plan to get either a MATTE black custom model, or a MATTE white custom model - I'd get them customized with this logo~!

Or this Logo:

(This one would need to be up-sized/cleaned up)

But still, as a first time V-MODA buyer, I have some questions:

  • I understand the build-quality and durability is amazing and strong, but what parts are what? Are the entire headphones made out of metal? Plastic? Carbon Fiber?
  • The cups don't swivel flat like on something like the Audio Technica ATH-M50's or AKG K550's, right? Sucks.. but if it's for the overall durability, I can understand it.
  • Will there be another "Head-fi" or Shield discount at launch of the M-100's?
  • Is it possible to get one shield with one design, and the other shield with another design?

I can answer the first question with regards to the M80s (if the M100s are close to the build of the M80s).  The only thing that isn't metal on these is the pleather, memory foam, and fabrics used for the headband and pads...  Everything else is metal and strong.  You'll find 0 plastic on these, that includes the fabricated, Kevlar-reinforced cable (headphone jack is rubber and strong as ever).

I remember talking about swiveling cups with the M100.  I don't remember whether or not they'll have them :(  M80s don't have them, but are still able to be comfortable.

Ask Val about shields :p (someone else might be able to answer the last question).

I remember Val mentioning before that you would have to pay double since they're apparently breaking even when it comes to money with the custom designs.

Unfortunately the M100 won't have swivelling cups... That was a major problem for me with the M80, I hope it does not matter that much with the over-ear cups of the M100.
