or to mitigate its effects, as is my case, my ears still touch the driver cover, just less

Being quite the basshead myself I totally get it. I love the M100 ability to really blow me away. Its the closed I've come to the SPL that I have in my car (which is low enough and loud enough to ratttle the house windows and walls).

BUT .... there are times when I want a more pure sound with just a good amount of low end. I personally wasnt happy with the momentums when I heard them, or the UE6000 or the Denon D600.

For me, the two headphones are the perfect combination. I'm sure this state of nirvana wont last but let me enjoy it for now lol

That's the thing I hate about car subwoofers - the rattle. When I can hear things rattle it completely takes away my enjoyment of the bass.

You should enjoy the M100, MD combo my friend... after these, it's all diminishing returns and having a good ear to really differentiate minute details, clarity, separation, etc... ;-)

I understand completely. I will say that I've got enough dynomat throughout my car that almost nothing inside the car rattles, but ... stuf in other peoples cars do .....

For what is worth ... Its all in fun and it keeps me young. I certainly dont ride around like that all the time. Just like I dont crank my M100s up that loud all the time.

Well... after so much wait for the XL Pads, and finding myself not touching them for at least 3 weeks if no more, I have decided these headphones are leaving my house unfortunately. I cannot stand them any more. I love how they sound, but I just want some super comfi and portable cans and these are not that. These are a hate or love headphone.

Sorry to hear that man, but talk about the 11th hour!

The 11th hour?

Now I am thinking in one of these two... SONY MDR1-R vs SONY MDR1-RBT

The MDR-1R sounds pretty good. I don't feel the same bass impact though.  I have an RBT sitting here, but have yet to listen to it.  I'll have to give that a shot over the weekend.

BTW, "the 11th hour", is just a saying.  It means at the last minute, in this case right before the XL pads are going to come out.

IMO, you could do better with the PSB M4U1 or M4U2.

I personally am not really a fan of Bluetooth or NC headphones. I have heard good things about the regular MDR1-R

I heard the MDR1-RNC (noise-cancelling version) and it sounded like mud without the NC turned on. I didn't realize they were the NC version until after I stopped listening to them, so I don't know how they sound with NC, but passive mode was disheartening.

I will have a look to them as well. Thank you!

That sounds good, I'll wait for your comments on the BT. I'm not very concerned about the bad impact though.

Thanks about the clarification. I'm still improving my English and I'm not very used with sayings in English yet. biggrin.gif

That's what I heard that's why I don't even consider the NC version of them. Thanks for the input though.
