Too effort-some and it'll ruin its authenticity haha

Uh...FiiO E11? JDS Labs CMoyBB? Both are around $60 USD.

Sorry to hear that... You could try it out of course as the 3-point connectors are not as critical as the 4-point connectors. But it could be just that bit too short to get a reliable contact.

Yeah...I'm afraid it will be too short in general to make reliable contact with the actual 3.5mm socket:(

Oh wells!

V-Moda stock cables should serve me well, nevertheless, so all is not lost! beyersmile.png

Well, the C&C BH isn't bigger than an iPhone 5. Not at all. It will probably be thicker of course, and around a half to three-quarters the length of the iPhone. It'll provide you with 100 hours of battery life and a nice little sound improvement to drive the M-100's. In fact, I'm using this combo right now - M-100 with BH with an iPod Nano 3rd Gen.

Here's a thread if you're actually interested: http://www.head-fi.org/t/644363/c-c-bh-portable-headphone-amp-80-hours-from-a-single-charge-buyer-review

Haha, we want him to get decent sound quality, do we not? tongue.gif

I don't know, DarthSexy, you can get these if you desire, but I can't ensure you'll be spending your $60-$70 USD wisely.

Don't forget the new, but somewhat untested, NuForce MMP is at that price range too.

But I did take them with me to work, ended up that my first song was due to iPod played on random, but boy were they fun!

Snow Patrol and Martha Wainright performing "Fire to the Third Bar" was soaring! And I found the M-100s to be pretty detailed and resolving despite a smooth, powerful presentation... there's one part in the song where they repeat the chorus several times, what keeps it urgent and not boring is all the little flourishes happening in the background "behind" the lead vocals, and I could easily pay attention to those bits while also enjoying the warm, smooth presentation. Next up was Daft Punk's "Give Life Back to Music," the beginning was just awesome and jammin, though still I wish the vocals weren't robotized (I know, it's Daft Punk). There's some fun guitar going on there. "Missing" by Everything But the Girl was also great, I was lost having fun in my own little world by this time. Lol cowbell. Theeeeen... "Little Wing" by Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble. Soooooo cooool, and these headphones are great to chill out with, though my ears started to feel a tiny bit sweaty by this point. I also noticed/remembered from my LPs that if I rest the edge of my pads on the thinnest last ridge of cartilage on the edge of my ear, comfort was pretty good and the sound, optimal.

I'm gonna listen and chillax a bit more, also plug in my LOD and E12 to see what that does with control and bass. Anyone want me to post my unboxing up on YouTube?

As an initial impression, how would you say the sound compares to your expectation?

I'm afraid I need to correct you here.  Val never even notified the thread of the special initial pre-order.  It was discovered accidentally by a Head-fi member checking V-Moda's web site.  The VTF-100 preorder was available to anyone who went to V-Moda's web site.  As the pre-order was limited to a few hundred, it was only available for a few weeks, so there was a short time window.  This was about a year ago.  Head-fi members were fortunate enough to have access because we were among a select few who even knew the M-100 existed at that time.
