V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc. - Page 1029

My package didn't come with the Y-splitter nor the handwritten note. XD

I don't mind though as I think the M-100's package is already packed with goodies.

yea theyre both correctly inserted! I didnt mean it as a negative think. I like it being louder. When i use the speakeasy mic cable its super soft at halfway volume and 3/4 when using my iphone 5 and even my back book pro. The bass feels non-existent unless its at the highest volume. This changes when i use the shareplay cable. It sounds how i expected, and wanted the earphones to sound. Just wondering if theres something wrong with my headphones since i ordered them from amazon on the 5th and they arrived on the 9th

I don't think your headphones are defective as they seem to work when using the other cable... might be a problem with your speakeasy cable though. I'd try to contact V-Moda directly.

Somewhat off topic: I am just recently aware of a new AMP from NuForce called the MMP at $60.  This might be a decent alternative to FiiO or other band offerings with the M-100.  Check it out.

I really like V-Moda's Y splitter and use it with my wife when traveling, but it wouldn't be a dealbreaker and any Y-splitter would work fine.

For anyone curious about what WAS included with the VTF (original preorder)

M-100

Case

caribiner

mini to phono plug adapter

Y-splitter/extender

extra custom shields

BoomPro mic

V-Moda Faders

hand-written note from Val

Wow, my package had no extra shields, boom pro, faders or hand written note.  Factory QA problems methinks..............

Believe Craigster75 was talking about his which is part of a 'special' sent to those who placed a pre-order with v-moda.

Mine came with the same accessories as yours.

Have one on the way.  I'll let you know how they pair, though I haven't had the pleasure of testing out anything FiiO.  Maybe someone will have something at the meet next weekend.

Correct- I didn't mean to cause confusion, just mentioning what was included at launch as a comparison.  I doubt Val could keep up with handwritten notes for the current volume of M-100 orders.

I remember in november being impressed with the m100, then gave to my family memeber as Christmas gift and moved on to soooo many headphones.
Right now I am mostly an Audio Technica owner.
Since then I just put these back on my head.
They have been obliterated with heavy and loud bass tracks for 8months and now...
I borrowed them to listen...
I am yet impressed again!
The bass is more controlled than before and the mids are more clear with no bass bleed and the treble is very very good!
This unit reminds me of an esw9 in its smooth relaxed presentation.

It wasn't what was "included at launch" either, it was a special, Head-Fi only (this thread only) pre-order deal. You had to go to a special off-the-map website to order them, too.

I did my unboxing! I made a video of it too, but it got split into two clips because a calendar event on my iPad went off, and I didn't have time to record first impressions on the sound. But I did take them with me to work, ended up that my first song was due to iPod played on random, but boy were they fun!

Snow Patrol and Martha Wainright performing "Fire to the Third Bar" was soaring! And I found the M-100s to be pretty detailed and resolving despite a smooth, powerful presentation... there's one part in the song where they repeat the chorus several times, what keeps it urgent and not boring is all the little flourishes happening in the background "behind" the lead vocals, and I could easily pay attention to those bits while also enjoying the warm, smooth presentation. Next up was Daft Punk's "Give Life Back to Music," the beginning was just awesome and jammin, though still I wish the vocals weren't robotized (I know, it's Daft Punk). There's some fun guitar going on there. "Missing" by Everything But the Girl was also great, I was lost having fun in my own little world by this time. Lol cowbell. Theeeeen... "Little Wing" by Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble. Soooooo cooool, and these headphones are great to chill out with, though my ears started to feel a tiny bit sweaty by this point. I also noticed/remembered from my LPs that if I rest the edge of my pads on the thinnest last ridge of cartilage on the edge of my ear, comfort was pretty good and the sound, optimal.

I'm gonna listen and chillax a bit more, also plug in my LOD and E12 to see what that does with control and bass. Anyone want me to post my unboxing up on YouTube?
