They are actually REALLY comfortable, and sound pretty good too.  Very similar signature to the standard Momentum.  I think they'll do well.  FWIW...

I fooled around with them for a bit, but there was just something about them that made me feel uncomfortable. I'm not sure if I was sensitive to the smell of paint, the pressure of the band (I do have a big head), or just the size of the cups, but ultimately I decided to return them. They sounded great, but I think I'd rather opt for a more neutral pair of headphones. I'm upset they didn't work out for me, especially with how well made and portable they are, but at least I learned something about my headphone tastes! I think if the XL pads were available at the moment it would be a different story, but I still found the bass to aggravate whatever strain the headphones were putting on me. Still, they are great at what they are supposed to do, but I don't think they are for me.

I will have to say that the M100's sound like they acquire a wider sound stage, slightly more pronounced mids, and are more controlled with the inclusion of the JDS Labs C5 amp. I will also say that the bass boost switch on the C5 (which is set at 80hz) will rock your world with some really controlled sub bass, if you're a bass lover. Fyi:)

If you are looking for something more neutral and more comfortable that still sounds great and even has a bit more high end extension, I would recommend the PSB M4U1 as an alternative.

M-100s arrived just now! Gonna (shower and then) make a video of the unboxing for YouTube and Head-Fi, very excited. My custom shields came out looking sweet! Much cooler than I thought from my screen, and the orange looks like a brand-new penny. As with the LP, I was afraid they would look too "bling" from the Internet pictures, but they just look awesome in person.

On 2nd thought, after my shower, I'm gonna make a quick outline so I don't derail focus and make a shorter video, got a couple complaints last time on my FiiO video.

AnakChan,
You could probably spend all your moderating time on this thread alone, lol!

That's kinda weird Evshrug. For some reason I kept thinking you already had one and was an early adopter. Hope you enjoy it :D.

I tried my M100s with the Firestone audio fireye HD and the difference was amazing, I get what you guys have been saying about the benefit from amping! With the fireye the bass tightened up a lot, the soundstage got more spacious and the whole spectrum just sounded cleaner and more coherent. Really pleased with this result, I think it would be interesting to compare the fireye to the Fiio E12...

Probably because I've been discussing in the thread since before the M-100 were even released, like January a year and a half ago. I didn't have the money to buy a pair then, though I shared some experiences I had with my Crossfade LPs and I even weighed in on some case design ideas (and the "recycle plastic" promotional idea). Now I can afford them, but I had so much going on today (purchasing a new car while getting insurance in my own name) that I didn't have time to really give the M-100 the loving attention they have been destined to receive. I'm going to wait to cut the read ribbon till I'm recording video, lol. Would've been sub-optimal anyway today because the power was out a few times due to 3 big t-storms rolling through.

The shields just came out so awesome though, I'm so tickled with the "endorse yourself" program!
Here's a quick-and-dirty shot, tomorrow in the sunlight things'll be a bit better.

Thanks martybm5! Feels like "too many" awesome things are coming my way all at once wink.gif Definitely going to try them with the E12 and my tube amp, milk out the first impressions, and also enjoy them for years to come! You still loving yours?

Just bought the m100 today, I have been listening to thrm for over one hour, they doesnt feel uncomfortable, but the XL pads would make me very happy.
Fun fact: I am 16 and these are my first headphones, the guy that sold me them at B&H was so impressed by the fact that I am young and wasnt looking for Beats and by the fact that I am a head-fier, that He laughed really hard, and congratulated me.
I am loving the M100s!!!

Congrats DeeToti!
You have no idea how hard it is for me right now to resist breaking open the box and listening to mine till I fall asleep, but literally I am so tired I'm dizzy and things are swimming around, lol! Kudos to you for patience to save up money, and patience/initiative to do some research and find headphones you really love! The "hard" work adds to your enjoyment now that you've got them, huh? smily_headphones1.gif

It worthes each penny, it is impossible to talhe them out of my head, I dont think I will sleep today, but it doesnt matter, when I am wearing them, I am in my own world, nothing matters, only music.

Hey guys, I'm back with another question about jacks:)

Does anyone know/own (if) this Oyaide (Ultrasone Version) would fit into the M-100's?

Cheers.
