V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc. - Page 1025

I was, and always am, just messing about....  It is an internet forum I am not going to lose any sleep over it... No offence meant I was only joking... People always seem to get the "wrong end of the stick" with my posts.

It shows up on the thread as your post- I simply hit "Quote" to reply to what was listed as your post.  If you didn't post it, my apologies.  Really not a big deal.

Also, no worries about holding a grudge due to an opinion.  In the end, we are just talking about "stuff".

Yes no problem at all, as I said in my previous post I was only messing about.... But I guess this is a problem with using forums, it is very easy for people to misinterpret what you say.

So I just got my pair of M-100s today, and they sound amazing, but they are a little bit uncomfortable to wear after about an hour or so. What exactly does the paper towel mod solve so I can decide if I want to try that or not. I think my ears fit inside the cups completely, so I'm not sure where the pain is coming from.

The "paper towel mod" or in my case the "rope mod" puts space under the pads, effectively moving the driver cover away from your ears, making it more comfortable.  It helps.

I use 1/4" rope, which when compressed makes the pads fit just good enough for decent comfort.  Not good comfort, decent.  I am one of the "XL pad hopefuls" but I'm not holding my breath on either a release date or if it is going to solve the problem (both depth AND opening size).

Ok, thank you so much! I just set it up and it is a bit more comfortable. I have 30 days to return the headphones to Amazon if I decide I don't like them, so hopefully the XL pads come out between now and then. I know this is a M-100 thread, but are there any other portable headphones that are very comfortable? I know not everyone has the same ears, but any advice would be appreciated. I was attracted to the M-100 because of the size and the sound quality, but if comfort is an issue I'm not too sure how I feel about keeping them.

I understand.  I'm in the same boat as far as liking the size/concept of portability.  Just don't love the comfort.  I've been using my CAL phones out in the yard and they ARE more comfy, even with pads that are not large but V-Moda could learn a little from how the pads feel.  Just my input.

Hello fellow head-fiers just wanted to chime in for a moment and express how ecstatic I am to own the m-100.

I've owned my matte black pair for almost a week now and am blown away by these headphones every time I put them on, as a matter of fact when I'm not wearing them I look forward to wearing them. I feel like I'm 16 again with a new girlfriend, lol.

Seriously, I have been buying, selling, trading headphones for the past couple years and have owned used
Beyerdynamic T70P and Custom One Pro, Sennheiser HD650, 598, 558, 25-1II and Momentum, Sony mdr-1r, and aiaiai tma-1; with the mdr-1r's holding top honors, out of the fore mentioned headphones, as my favorite.  That was until I tried the m-100.

All of the previous mentioned cans were great headphones and all had their strengths and weakness and all had something missing.  But the v-moda crossfade m-100 is pure nirvana, imo.  I cannot find a flaw with these headphones; the build quality is ridiculous and they just feel like a premium product.  I have absolutely no problems with the comfort (I have an average size head and ears, btw) and my ears don't touch the drivers at all.  I wore them Saturday on a 5 hour flight to San Diego and have been litening to them everyday.  And finally the sound (imo) is outstanding, I'm in love with the sound of these cans and I have through just about everything at them from rock to bluegrass. I find the sound so engaging and can really feel the music, I suppose from the extra bass extension.  But still having the detail and clarity I expect from headphones.  And the soundstage is just perfect, I feel like I'm in a room surrounded by the music.  Lastly, I just love the looks, especially with the matte black, so stealthy and awesome.

I was curious to see the matte black selling about $20 less than the white/silver and shadow on amazon.  I guess because of supply, I would have just thought the matte black would have been a more popular color option.  Just curious what colors do you folks own?

Anyway, I'm happy, happy, happy! And now a fan of v-moda.

Chaps, just spent 30 mins cleaning up this thread & cleared out 2 pages of OT thread crapping (responses to it) that was made in the past 8 hours. Please do -not- reply post to trolling topics & just report to the mods. Trying to discipline trolling will just end up generating more OT posts to clean up.

I agree 100%! Great Impressions! I feel the same way about the M100. These are truly a wonderful set of headphones. I have the Matte Black with Gold shields, but sadly there was a problem so I sent them back, I asked for a White Silver model in exchange, I just want to switch things up. Matte black is so stealthy and beautiful.

Try flattening the headband to relieve some of the clamping pressure.
