I've decided to retire my superhero/patriotic shield + alternate ear pad color scheme and go back to stock. I've had this red/blue setup for a about a month now and just got sick of it. You can clearly see the white ear pad on the left graying and yellowing with use. Thanks again to DrSheep for trading shields with me.

No problem, anytime.

Since GoDAP also has a built-in DAC, may I ask what is the benefit to adding the APEX in context of the impact on the sound with the M-100?

So the Go-DAP X & VERZA have a "packaged DAC/AMP", whereas the Go-DAP DD is a DAC-only giving you the choice of whatever amp you wish to use.

The Apex Glacier has a somewhat tube-ish like presentation.

I'm surprised you didn't consider the VERZA .

LOL!!!  It's candidate no. 1.  I'm probably going wait until my birthday to get it just so I can justify the purchase to my wife.  (yes, I am whipped

So why is the one on the left getting all the action?

I was using mismatched ear pads. One grey, one white. The clean one has never been used.

wow you really put the customization to good use! well done for having the patience. tbh, had i known how flimsy changing the shields would be, i probably wouldnt have done it...

My first experience with changing shields was with the V-80 and that was a harrowing experience that took a lot of patience and nerves. I accidentally scratched one of my shields while changing them on the M-100 the first time and I've since learned how to hold and use the hex key quite efficiently. Whereas the V-80 change took me nearly 20 minutes to do, I did my last changeover on the M-100 in under 8. It's actually quite satisfying to see the look of the M-100 completely shift as you remove and add colors to it. I'm thinking of collecting more shields and swapping out looks every now and then.

Not so whipped considering your headphone collection.  Verza goes at least 50% louder than Vamp to my ears, so it will have plenty of power when you upgrade.  I did have Vamp checked out by V-Moda and it is not defective, Verza just somehow outputs siginificantly more volume with comparable wattage.  I don't question why anymore, just enjoy it.  Verza and M-100 is as good as it gets when I am out and about if I am concerned about scuffing up my Sig DJ.  Going to Disneyworld in June and will bring M-100s for the long lines.

I would say get custom plates with the Disney logo on it, but that might get you thrown out knowing how militant they are with their IP. :p

You could do the Micky Mouse ears and say that its really the Deadmau5 logo :D (Not sure why, but after learning how militant they are in Disney, I just want to think of ways to screw with their heads a bit that they can do nothing against)
