V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc. - Page 89

Regarding earpad size - its a tough choice as we see on Amazon.com/NEWEGG reviews on LP/LP2 reviews are consistently 4.6-5 star and #1-#6 of all headphones.  Going to a larger size can change the sound more for a greater amount of people, sometimes sacrificing the sound for all.

We are testing various sizes of cushions and if we ship with one size we may offer another size as an option for the bigger ears. We're very aware of this, but overall I think our ergo-feedback on LP/LP2 has been stellar and was in dev for nearly 3 years- try them out and let me know.

PS - our HEX is now patent-pending and should be patented...we think outside the BOX and the circle!

Possible Options for ear cushions! Something I think a lot here will love to hear! Also HEX? Is that the design of the cups that is being patented or something entirely new?!

Finally, as I can say along with many others. Is there a date for a press release of the M-100's? I would love to see them in as many Hi-Def fully detailed pictures considering we have only seen a few decent shots from angles, proto-shots, cropped shots, and finally small shots.

Its teasing me to no end!!!!!!! When will we get "The Full Monty"?!

Hey Val!
Yeah the Hexagonal shape of your earpads should be patented... But honestly it's so distinct that I already associate that shape with V-MODA headphones. Yay for successful branding!

Any word on Head-Fi preordering? I want to put some word of mouth reviewing and hype out there! wink.gif

Though I have a few trashed earbuds and some Koss USC75 that I could break and photograph for the recycle* program, I'm debating buying a larger plastic headphone so I can really smash it and have enough raw material for this idea I got reading the official rules. Worst comes to worst I'll draw it in case you want to use the idea for an ad or something.

Remember to sleep sometime! Even if I usually forget...

yeah granted, I just meant if it presses a little against my ear so that it is a lot smaller I don't mind ^^

I agree with having circumaurals as portable (and pain-free) as possible. Have always been looking for that beautiful-sounding and well-isolating portable circumaural and I'm thinking the M-100 will absolutely fit the bill (especially after having owned the M-80). Can't wait already! I can't even bring myself to think of the M-100s half the time because just the reminder that they are not here on my head as I type this, hurts. No pun intended. tongue.gif

xD, true ^^

Good to hear, especially as an individual with big ears. I've had many issues with comfort in the past with all sorts of headphones, it's always good to have options to help.

Kudos to larger options on earpads.  I have the LP's and they aren't comfortable for more than half an hour max, so unless the M100's address that issue, I'll pass.  In comparison, Denon AH-D1100's are WAY more comfy for me and not really that much larger... truly circumaural on my big head, though.  They also sport a folding/portable design, but that creates an issue in that the headband is fabricated from the dreaded plastic, therefore the hinges creak with head movement.  I'm sure Val and the crew are paying close attention to that in their design (maybe some brass bushings or zert fittings and an included mini-grease gun?)

Just want to note that I've been seeing LPs/LP2s more and more all over NYC. Makes me happy and drives me crazy with anticipation at the same time as I await the M-100s. July needs to come ASAP.

They didn't work well for me, started to feel uncomfort after 1 hr or so so I'd be more than happy to see larger inner-circumference, not necessarily bigger pads but bigger inner-cirfumference at the very least so it would fit around the ears. My Q40 which has a lot more clamp, I can wear for hours and hours without discomfort so yea to be fully around the ear sure would help.

Agreed, based on the cost the Vamp shouldn't lose one of its key selling features- attaching to an Iphone, as soon as the Iphone 5 comes out, assuming the Iphone 5 will be a different size.

GREAT TO HEAR, I saw a few too in NYC.  I said "nice headphones" to one guy crossing the street wearing White LPs (I was wearing White M-80s), he yelled back "I LOVE MY V-MODAs".  He had no idea it was me.

TOOLING MOLDS

Status of M-100 coming soon, tooling the molds takes some time and we use high end partners to make sure our tools are as precise as possible.  It's like watching grass grow, let's pray to the "TOOL GODS" we don't need to retool once we finish the durability testing!

Yep, and they still do. I would say they're the best ones they carry, except for some of the on-ear Sennheisers. Bose, Beats, and the B&W P5 seem to be what else they carry which, IMHO, suck.
