M-100 is better for me as they provide a superior seal. Momentums are billed as circumaural but are really supra-aural for anyone except those with the smallest ears.

I bought these this week from amazon.co.uk for £10 including delivery. That's US $15. Packaging, appearance, warranty, euro-nanny knows best: Mine arrived in the small European packaging box,...

I agree w most reviews that these does not warrant the $499 MSRP. (Then rather opt for D5k, D7k). BUT - at the +-$230 range I got them at (Amazon warehouse) - these are VERY good value for...

Quote:That's good to know! I get a good seal w/ the Momentum, though my ears aren't particularly small, but as soon as the environment gets really noisy, they don't give as much isolation as I was hoping. Normal room noise they do fine, but not Starbucks rush noise... Sounds like the M100 would do better.

If I am watching tv and put on my M-100, the tv volume is cut in half to my ears with no music on. Once I turn the music on, I hear nothing around me except the music.post #11584 of 146701/17/13 at 11:46am- imackler

Quote:At "normal" listening volume for both? That could be a good subjective test. Thanks!

post #11586 of 146701/17/13 at 12:05pmQuote:This is a little bit of an exaggeration. My ears are not that small and they fit just fine. Tyll even said in his review that the cups match the size of the average male ear. The small sample size here on Head-fi has skewed toward the cups being small, but I will take Tyll's measurements and statistics over a sample size of 6 any day of the week. They could certainly be considered somewhat small, just not only for those "with the smallest ears".

Not wanting to get off topic here, but I agree with the general conclusion that the cups match average size ears well.post #11588 of 146701/17/13 at 2:03pmQuote:Originally Posted by Speakerphile

I must have bigger ears than I thought
post #11589 of 146701/17/13 at 3:00pmYeah I had no problems with the Momentum's size either.
I found them to feel like they were clamping less hard on the head, but were quite isolated at the same time
post #11590 of 146701/17/13 at 3:08pmFrom Innerfidelity's measurements, the Momentum has a bit more noise isolation compared to the M-100. The treble region has a lot more isolation with the Momentum over the M-100, but the mid-midrange and lower-midrange frequencies are more or less the same (M-100 has slightly more isolation).

Cool to know! I wouldn't have guessed that; maybe I should have adjusted them...

I would agree with that. I certainly wouldn't fault either model in this regard.
post #11593 of 146701/17/13 at 8:21pmGuys why does the sound stage seem to be coming from behind me?
post #11594 of 146701/17/13 at 8:30pmQuote:It could be a result of the depth-based soundstage that I mention in my reviews.
How does this track sound?
post #11595 of 146701/17/13 at 8:37pmLike its coming from behind me...
Like not a sing sound ever goes in front of me. Is that how it is for everyone? It's annoying.
Did I maybe screw up the drivers with my modding?
