I did indeed get them for $200 =). It appears they already finished processing a few hours ago and are supposedly on their way....who knows from where or how long it'll take =P

I will come back and let you all know what I think...the sound card will not arrive till a little bit after due to some other necessary contingencies, but i'll post my initial thoughts!

Full warranty, still factory wrapped, $200+$5 shipping. IMO, there's not a better deal out there.
Damn, they should be paying me for this advertising, seriously. Maybe I should just make a macro? blink.gif

I actually bought them because I think you might of posted that in another thread.

Got mine yesterday.

Killer Deal, Killer headphones, I'm very happy. Thanks. beerchug.gif

From the same website?

How long did it take to get to you, and what condition were they in?

Just got them in! Only took 2 days!

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! They sound GREAT. Thanks for a great recommendation everyone!!!!

My only qualm: it squeezes my head a bit tight...despite my tiny head. Perhaps I just need to get used to them, I have only been wearing them for a few mins =P Otherwise, wow....

I am a happy camper, esp. for $200....can't be beat. Can't wait for the sound card to get in too ^_^

THANKS AGAIN HEAD-FI Forums!

The Denons?  Don't venture into other headphones!  The denons have less clamp than a lot out there.  To me it's the perfect amount of clamp, I don't see how a lot of people say it's too loose.

I think they just clamp in a weird place and im just not used to it....they are generally much more comfy than the MDR-V6's otherwise.

The Denons clamp is nothing, its so little that there is a weak seal causing little to no isolation.

great choice man.

and yes. the denon clamps is quite minimal. like the perfect amount.

i like the pad design too because it seals more in the area behind the ear where i find is essential to a good seal.

i love my denons. difficult to part with them now. watch movies, listen to music, play games, take 'em everywhere. hehe.

but on a side note. they helped me understand why there's much praise for the superlux headphones (my first pair).

I agree. For me they have too little clamp.

S...O...B... I've been looking for a good replacement for my finally retired 8 year old ATH-A900s. Was strongly considering the Ultrasone 900s (still am) but after reading this thread, and that open box deal was gonna get those D2000s. Out of stock though... Damnit.. That would have been perfect. Planning on getting Xonar Essence STX. I bet those D2000s would have been a great combo. My situation is pretty much the same as the original poster too. I'm a little worried about them having a loose seal though. Can anyone comment? I wore ATH-A900s for a long time and was pleasantly content with their isolation and seal. Can anyone describe the fit between the ATH-A900s and the D2000s? and then to the Pro 900s?

WTB more open box sales... T.T

Another really important factor is durability. My ath-a900s finally broke at the thin plastic bands holding the earcups to the headband. Superglue, and then more breaks.. Would like to avoid any thin plastic force-bearing parts. I can't tell but it looks like those same thin bands on the D2000s might be made of metal? The durability of the Pro 900s seem to be universally accepted as rugged.

@ezero50k, those d2000 parts are all metal. Despite being a closed design, however, it offers almost no isolation.

I think i figured it out....it clamps fairly low...around my jawline, and it causes some discomfort. Anyone else ever had this issue?

I think its because they are so massive and my head is so tiny...is this typical for upper echelon headphones? Any suggestions on how to aid that?

Last post in this thread, i swear!

Just wanted to update anyone who followed this thread...

I don't know if the headphones eventually have conformed more to my head, i've gotten used to them, or what, but they are REALLY comfy now =)

So if any of you had any worries, do not! Just takes some getting used to! I can wear them for hours now without issue!
