Krk Rokit 6 with Ipod

Hi,

I just got a pair of rokit 6 that I want to use with my ipod. I hvae a mini trs to y-trs (L,R) cable and it works, its just not very loud. I guess the ipod amp doesnt have enough juice.

I am a newb to active speakers and am wondering what kind of amp I can use to use the ipod line out and get more volume...

Would a dac by itself produce higher volume or do I need a amp or pre amp ?

What kind would I need and would you have some recommendations ?

best regards

Busch

you need a digital signal for a dac. the ipod can't output digital.

you can use a pre-amp, or posibly an ipod Line out Device > rca. Ideally you would not use an ipod at all.

so would this setup be louder than the headphone out ? (I want lineout in the end...)

any other suggestions for an pre amp pref with usb to connect the ipod ?
