Asus Xonar D2/PM and dolby headphone

Hello. I have recently bought Asus Xonar D2/PM with complete dolby and DTS sound tecnologies and dolby headphone support and I would like to ask you if I have to use a specific software (like powerdvd) to benefit dolby headphone or I can use common players (like vlc or mpc).

And what DH settings I must use for DTS movies? I enable dolby headphone but I don't know if I have to set 2 or 6 channels for my normal stereo headphones.

Thank you! normal_smile%20.gif

I think you need to set Windows speakers to 7.1 or 5.1 (right click the windows volume icon, click playback devices, then select it then click the configure button), then enable the dolby headphone option in the xonar's control panel applet.

Ok I have set my windows speakers to 5.1 and enable the dolby headphone option in the xonar's control panel.

In the xonar control panel I must set 2 or 6 speakers?

Now I need a specific player to listen a DTS film in dolby headphone tecnology or I can use vlc, mpc, ecc

I have test them (vlc, mpc) and they didn't give me the impression of 5.1 surround sound. confused.gif
