LCD-2 fit and seal - help!

I have the LCD-2 (r1), and lately I can no longer get a seal on the cups.  The right cup is okay, but the left cup sticks out at least a half an inch at the bottom not providing any kind of seal whatsoever.

Any suggestions as to what to do would be greatly appreciated.
