Recommend a full size headphone for sub 80?

Thread Starter

Hi , Every one , this is my first post after some reading.

Just got some Chinese New year money and decide to jump on a more expensive headphone .( for a student that it ~~)

Budget is around 80, I can also be patient to watch for deal/sale.

Here is what i usually listen to.

60% -> JPOP -  mainstream Female R&B , ballad , acoustic (not anime)

30& -> Chinese-POP - Male

10% -> K-POP- SNSD only

Previous/Currently Using:

CX-300 ( for portable)

KSC75 ( Really like the clarity, but seem to the bass can get uncontrolled sometimes)

The two I am looking at now

KOSS DJ PRO 100 w/ AMP

Grado sr60 ( I heard not the best for vocal but not bad at anything?)

Playback from laptop headphone jack.

Portable is not needed.

One thing that is plus but not necessilty : I like to listen to music before sleep on bed, If the headphone is comfortable while laying down on pillow would be great.

the grado will not have enough bass to satisfy you i think.

akg k518 is pretty cheap and supposed to be really good for the price.

Hey Baii. Did you find the headphones you were looking for? Our genre's almost overlap. I listen to j-pop and anime songs and from k-pop I love SNSD biggrin.gif

I find the koss to be rather boring with these genres. The bass is slightly punchy but it's not really engaging. Neither is the sound. I think for these genres which use a lot of synthesised sounds and bass, a bass orientated headphone/IEM would be more useful.
