M-80's for fps gaming?

Do these headphones have good enough soundstage for CS, BF3, etc? I like everything else about them but I"m debating between these and the DT 770 pros.. if the M-80's don't have good enough soundstage I'll go ahead and buy the 770 pros. Thanks

Closed on-ear headphones rarely have good soundstage due to the limited size. I've heard the LP2 which is a full-sized with slightly different sound but same enclosure but bigger and it was still quite average as far as soundstage goes. 770 Pro would definitely provide a noticably better soundstage, it's actually really fun gaming headphone due to the soundstage and the wonderful bass extension and power in the subbass but it's not THAT strong so everything will get covered in a mud of bass but I'd recommend some basic amping to get the most out of these though.

I've used it for MW3. It sounds good but it doesn't throw a huge sound stage. It's not overly small either.

So basically I won't get the same advantage that the DT 770 or the AD700 would give me? Not even close?

I used to be a competitive gamer and I bought the M-80's a few weeks ago for work. I like these for portable use but when I plug them in to play BF3 or TF2 they're not great, if you're used to good sound imaging for gaming. Look for an open-ear can.

beyers are good for gaming, but they sound too bright for me. usually i start to get fatigue from all the gun firing and explosions.

Are you using them just for gaming? If so, look for full size open cans for directional positioning or the dt770's if you aren't competitive.
