Looking for decent headphones $50 or less

My brother listens to mostly Metal, Rock, Classical, and Alternative. He's looking for a pair of headphones that have good amounts of bass and have and are pretty well balanced. He's also looking for headphones that have a very good amount of quality and somewhat noise canceling.  I know I can't expect too much for this price range, but I know I can get at least decent pair. A pair of headphones that can play, for example, Movie themes such as Mind Heist in Inception would be very cool too.  These also need to be decently portable.

I looked at some Panasonics and the CAD mh310 and I'm kinda leaning towards towards the  CAD or a Superlux HD661.   Apparently my brother wants me to do the research and shopping. lol

I would suggest Monoprice 8323 (MHP-839) in this case for like $23 or whatever it costs on monoprice site. It's the Kicker HP 541 DJ headphones clone that goes for $50+ and I think you even get an extra cable with the Monoprice haha. Sound quality wise for a person searching for a boosted bassresponse we could very well be talking about 60~$70 or so worth sound, so it's another budget gem when looking at boosted bass response headphones but it's not impressive in soundstage so may not work so well for classical.

Check this thread for all the info you need http://www.head-fi.org/t/569239/monoprice-hi-fi-dj-style-headphone-review

Another option would be JVC HA-RX700 which have greater soundstage than the monoprice but the availability seems poor atm so might not find them for the usual price which is around $50.

Well I have come down to two options: The Monoprice 8223 as mentioned above or the Superlux HD668B.  The thing is, I'm not sure if  it's worth buying the HD668B for $20 more or I should just stick with the cheapest option.  The major thing I have against the Monoprice is the Soundstage. It would already be bought if it had a good soundstage.
