iBasso DX100: HiRez sources, Reviews & Impressions, Apps, IMGs & VIDEO pg 1. . . - Page 64

Update: Think they are still uploading it. The file size is different. Probably need to wait for another 20-30 mins or so.

It is now ready for download. File size matches now.

Hopefully there is instruction on how to update included in the zip file.

I see no reason for this at all as that would really take away from the portable aspect of it. Portable IMO means to be able to put it in your pocket and move around with the device unhindered and molested by clunk. I'm positive it will support 64 GB cards which is a hell of a lot as is. If it can support those it will most likely be able to support the 128 GB cards and so on (2TB card FTW LOL).

If it's able to handle more memory than a 32GB card, it may be conceivable to create some type of case with a ribbon cable coming from a plastic SDHC shell that connects to a layer between the case and the DX100 with multiple cards plugged in. It would make it possible to use less expensive cards together and would make the DX100 able to store lots of data, making it much more portable. Even if the DX100 cannot support more than 32GBs SDHC cards, a solution like this with a switch to select which card is being used without having to mess around with a small card would be amazing.

I hope my idea came through, and if anyone is interested, PM me and if I get enough interest I'll start looking into the parts and work up mockups if it wouldn't cost much to implement. My only concern would be making sure data accuracy was not lost with this process, and that it didn't introduce any issues with playback. This is why I thought it being integrated into a case would be best, to reduce movement of the cable and ensure some type of consistency between different users in how the product would be used.

The only real reason I would wanna do something like what I said in my previous post would be because of the limitation of storage on the device itself. The main reason I bought my 160gb iPod was for the purposes of being able to store all of my music on it when I am on the go.

In response to the idea thrown around about connecting an external hard drive to the android based player, and transferring files back and forth, this might be possible. Taking a look online, and having a bit of a background and experience with hacking and modifying android devices, this is something I think may be of interest and something people might wanna look into: http://lifehacker.com/5558594/usb-host-hack-allows-keyboards-flash-drives-to-connect-to-the-nexus-one

Well if it works it works. But I think once those 64 and 128 GB cards become mainstream and affordable you'll be hard pressed to not use such a simple solution. Then again the risk of losing or breaking such a small piece can be a downfall.

Great, the update is there and a read me file with instructions, which are very simple. Here goes.

My download have done 10 minutes ago.

So far, not a single "jump" occurred, Great!

Need more time to listen.

Found one "jump" on FLAC 24/192 file playing.

I have closed every App..

Looks better than before.

Any information given when the upgrade is done that would indicate what bugs have been addressed?

It appears to be done as I have downloaded and installed it. We have to guess at which bugs are fixed. .  sorry. .

Well albums play in order starting at the first song and albums are now listed in alphabetic order, which is a big help to me. I have to explore some further things. I made requests also and will see if besides the alphabetic order others things have been fixed.

Oh, and the download and install went very easy with no problems. Just drop the file onto the DX!00 and unplug the usb and it does all the rest. Takes a couple of minutes.

Well what I want to make is categories, like Rock in playlists and have the album show up there but what shows up is all of the songs, not just the album to access. I don't want 500 songs to show up, just the albums and then I can play that album.

There were no other information included in the instruction or update. Will need to ask iBasso on the list of bugs fixed.

I don't know how well the casing of the DX100 shields the internals, but wouldn't the fur make for static electricity? I prefer not to have that around my devices

Just put the DX100 inside a antistatic case and then inside the fur case and then . . . listen to static free music. :^)

I thought it was gapless, but it goes from song to silence then the next song.

Gapless playback or do the songs somewhat overlap? If they overlap, it may be their way of getting around whatever issues they were having with gapless playback with a somewhat similar type of listening feel.

Hey! It looks like gapless! No pop or sound between songs, it fades from one song to the next.
