iBasso fully intends to continue improvements to the UI. They do plan to keep the DX100 firmly in place as the premier DAP in the marketplace. I would expect to see new features become available via firmware updates, but it is doubtful that one will see major hardware changes.

On the fence for too long...guess I will just have to jump on the next one. Hope that the price doesn't jump too much.

True, but in time, iBasso has said the battery is user replaceable, so we'll eventually find out how one can take apart the DX100 for this replacement and their may be an ability to put a slightly more capacity battery in it, while still fitting inside the enclosure. Also, if/when iBasso upgrades the OS to Android OS 4, their are a multitude of battery saving updates to the OS that we may see slightly improved battery life. I know it's usually one of the main points they make about each new version of Android OS. I can tell you from experience with devices with Android OS on them and i have noticed large improvements with the latest OS

Sorry they already stated the next batch will be full price. You missed out. Full price is $829.00

Just saw that. Welp, what can you do?  In other news, here is the 64GB Micro SD, for significantly less than at other places, although currently out of stock, perhaps an in-stock notification, then someone could give it a try:

Looks like battery is not the only user-replaceable part on the DX100. I had inquired about replacing the bottom chassis and iBasso replied that it is possible to do it by myself. Didn't reveal the price of the part though.

So depending on where the battery is located, it might be possible to manufacture slightly larger back plates to allow for a larger battery?

Has any one actually used a 64 gig card with success in the DX100 yet? I currently have a 120 gig Ipod, This would be sweet if I could get all the functionality of the DX100 with the capacity of the Classic.

Don't think so. I was hoping someone might take the plunge and test at that price point.

I believe Jalo will be testing this capability once he receives his unit, though I don't see many reasons why it wouldn't work.

If it works on the T51 and Hifiman 601 then it most likely will work on an android device as most android phones can read these larger cards. Just format to FAT32 and you should be fine. Also stay away from other brands other than Sandisk. Sandisk is known for reliability (they should be since they invented the SD card TMK).

I haven't used Sandisk since my old 1GB cards. My current stable consists of Adata, Transcend, eFilm, Kingston and Topram for SD cards. All have been perfect. When I did pro photog work, I used Topram nearly exclusively (CF) and the only flash card I have ever had trouble with was a single Delkin Devices CF card.  Just my $.02. There are lots of card brands I would use. And many are made in the same places any way.

I have been considering a 128GB Lexar for my HiFiMan. http://www.geek.com/articles/chips/how-lexars-flash-products-are-made-20110124/

EDIT: Also, just FYI, you are right about them being integral in the development of the SD standard, along with Toshiba and Matsu****a (Panasonic). It was the non-DRM competitor to Sony's Memory Stick.

EDIT2: Seriously Head-Fi, you are ostensibly a tech blog and you censor the word Matsus h i ta? lol

I love my Lexar Class 10 micro SD 32gb and I will have no trouble recommending it as well =)
