Nah, don't upload music. Just PM me & Lee730 the tracks and I'll get them myself.

Listening to the Ibasso DX100 with my Heir Tzar 350 right now... High fidelity indeed!

Ok , I'm interested in getting this. My current fave source setup is my Cowon D3 running coaxial into my Fiio E17. I love the sound but it's such a pain to have 2 devices and cables running everywhere. Does anyone know how the DX100 compares to this kind of setup?

As a  big fan of the J3 that supposedly sounds like the D3 and a fan of Fiio in general (awesome price/performance ratio on everything they make) I'd say you are in for one hell of an upgrade. Several have stated here in this thread that the DX100 outperforms their previous iDevice -> CLAS -> Amp rigs.

I recommend you use dropbox and we can take this to PM in exchanging emails.

Yep simply put the Cowon doesn't compare at all. Even with a Fiio E17 not even close. It's wishful thinking at its best to be quite frank.

The J3 is great for what it is. When it comes to pure sound quality, the DX100 stops all over it, no contest at all.

The J3 wins on battery life and pocketability though biggrin.gif

For portability, I finally end up converting my flacs into 320k mp3 and put them all into my iphone5 and bring it with me while running. I have tried to carry both the Cowon s9 and the iphone5 (I use some running apps on the iphone while running). But still, two devices are too trouble for me to carry and I end up just using my iphone for apps/phone/musics. SQ isn't an issue while running anyway....

Thanks for the input guys. I'll do a little more mulling over before pulling the trigger.

I'd be too worried to run around with a DX100 as well lol. Still I'd use the iphone4 in my Otterbox which isn't far from the DX100 size either :P. But I wouldn't care if I dropped it.

I used to own the Cowon S9 and J3 and as I posted somewhere in these pages, I was not immediately floored by the DX100. I was expecting an instant WOW and it didn't happen and so was quite disappointed. However with a bit of dedicated listening time, it was like a slow realisation that everything just sounded "better", "bigger" and "weightier". I did some testing back and forth between the DX100 and my Cowons and the limitations of the Cowon soon became obvious.

My J3 had never really sounded right to my ears and I was forever playing with the EQ trying to get the perfect sound. There has been none of that with the DX - set the EQ to OFF and the sound is perfect.

My Cowons have now been sold as the DX is the only player I want (apart from the battery life and weight)

Why? Why? WHY!?

Why converting to mp3 when you can use aac (especially with an iDevice :D)? You could have put more files on the device, with better quality :o

Shame on you! :p
