Ahh too bad you didn't look into the 1Plus2s ;). So much better than the AKG3003s :P. Still I have to admit if I hadn't heard the 1Plus2s I'd have opted for the 3003s still. Well actually I might have just skipped them and gone for the 8As although I'm still doing that now :). The only reason I've opted for the RWA AK100 is because Vinnie modded it to fix the 22 ohm output impedance issue so it works fine with Sensitive IEMs and as an end result is more detailed and open sounding than the AK100. So its a win win. Plus the portability, dual micro SD slots, decent UI, the works :). I'll post some impressions when I get it though.

As has been stated many times in this thread, volume control (and EQ) takes place directly in the ESS dac, so it will affect all outputs. This means it can be done extremely accurate and without distortion or volume imbalance. That's a good thing.

I considered both those and more! But in the end I am VERY happy with my choice, I'm getting lost in the music and that's what I was looking for.

You'll have to use a mail forwarder such as tenso.com

 

All adds up to be quite costly to be honest.

My DX100 is once again refusing to turn on Wifi - even after a factory reset and firmware reload. Now I'm getting ready to do the complete wipe, using the tool supplied by Ibasso. If this doesn't fix it, I fear that I may have to return it for repairs! frown.gif

Thanks! Looking forward to seeing more comparisons with the DX100 - Not that I think I'll be switching, but competition is always nice.
