Could be that I didn't give it enough time to do it's thing (took me far less than 20 minutes to manually check them all), so you are probably correct on that one. On the new firmware, I definitely had to clear and recopy the problem albums to get the art to show - messing with tags for files already on the DX did nothing.

Hmm which format where those particular files? Did you try to reset the DX100 back to factory settings along with manually clearing the Media Storage Process and the Music Player process (then restart and let it load). I mainly only had problems with some album art that was larger than 600X600. Seems if its much larger than that the album art just won't show up. Or in some cases where the albums were both listed as "Greatest Hit's and in the same playlist then they'd end up sharing the same album art lol. I had to just move those particular albums to separate playlists to fix this :P (So instead of "Old Fart Jams 01" having both albums in the same list I moved the other album to "Old Fart Jams 02" ;).. Initially my load times are kinda long because I have over 2,600 FLAC files on my unit and steadily growing. But after that its about 45 seconds to load on each restart :).

They are all flac. After rechecking all the album art tags, everything works, doesn't matter how big the art is (but I don't think I have many, if any, over 600x600). I didn't do a reset of any kind after firmware update.

Then maybe that could have been part of the reason. When you don't do a factory reset you end up carrying over settings from the older firmwares which can lead to compatibility issues. One reason why I always do the resets on changing firmwares, so it applies the new settings of the current firmware. You can do this without deleting any of your files though. I've done it several times and never lost anything other than the apps. An example of carrying settings over was just like when I use to use 1.2.3 settings to enable my tag support while still reverting back to 1.1.7 without doing a factory reset. This allowed for my tags to show up on 1.1.7. If I did a factory reset though on 1.1.7 the tags would no longer show :).

Ya, I know you're right about that for sure.

My usual modus operandus is:
1) can't be arsed to things properly the first time
2) wonder why things aren't working as they should .... stupid things mad.gif
3) blame others
4) spend far longer trying to figure out how to 'fix' the situation than doing it correctly in the first place would have taken

...

5) rinse and repeat the next time

lol I do things similar as well ;). Just I try to be thorough to root out any other possible factors. The fact is the unit is a little slower to load than on 1.1.7 and I thought it may have been something I did :P. I went back and redid everything without much success. Just need to learn to be a bit more patient (the loading screen pops up like 3 or more times and makes me cringe lol) and appreciate that the album art shows up now (even when loading new music). Almost to perfection. bigsmile_face.gif

The irony of you leaving out the word DO in that sentence is just amazing. biggrin.gif

You're lucky it wasn't :

a) can't be arsed to things properly the first time

As I get older, #3 seems to be moving higher up the order.

Track Playing order Issue. I had used mp3tag to make the track numbers 01, 02,..10. instead of 1, 2, ...10.  The DX100 still plays tracks in order of ascending file name.

What am I doing wrong?

Do I need to rename all tracks with adding 01-, 02- at the start? If yes, is there a batch way to do it?

Thanks

yes.

It looks like the DX100 is not reading the MP3 tags. THe file names.

with that said,

i think they have that addressed as that also extends to how the sorting is taking place for the album or artist.

update for everyone else:

As I mentioned, iBasso has already fixed the sorting issues. They will be reading the tags (FLAC, MP3 etc) to do file sorting. THey still have a couple of bugs to address. But it is looking good. :)

Use mp3 tag to do your batch conversions. Follow my guide on how to do it. It's quite easy and you can do entire albums on the fly with my guide. Pretty much select the auto numbering wizard and check "Leading zeros for tracknumbers". Then you input this %track% %title% in the icon listed just below the tools tab. By doing this it will take your track number and Title and combine them automatically renaming your filename so it will show up as 01 Everybody instead of 1. Everybody, etc. Just be sure to have your files properly in order from 1,2,3,4 listed in mp3tag as the auto numbering will rename your track numbers otherwise.

Yeah I did talk with ibasso recently and they did say they are very close to releasing the latest firmware and are just addressing a couple of bugs left over. :). There was no such info on a new player though. So I'm curious if that has any weight to it or maybe they are being coy ;).

Personally,

they need to get this ironed out before releasing a new player. Once they get the DX100 polished. Then they can focus on a new player.

I 100% agree with you on this (never good to put the cart before the horse ;). This is one reason why I questioned them on this as to be honest I feel they have no place doing such thing until they make this right for their current customers. Otherwise it just looks bad for business.

So rooted the phone, updated the SU binary and also installed the newest version of ES File Explorer and ES Task Manager

intresting discovery

even though there is no cell phone chip on the DX100

2g/3g is turned on by default. This is the  wireless network under location and security. Turn that bad boy off...
