I have not much of an idea why the 1/4 plug would sound different than the 1/8, but it does. I have a special 1/4 to balanced (terminate so my balanced phones are back to common ground) and getting terrific sound. Beautiful decay. Peter Green never sounded better.

I am surprised that you did not notice this until now, as I discovered this by coincidence when I used the 1/4 adapter, as not to damage the 1/8 jack .

This is not a problem for me as I use an amp with my DX-100. The portable amp only takes a miniplug.

I agree. The 1/4 sounds clearly different from the 1/8 to my ears as well switching back and forward. On certain tracks I may prefer the 1/4 but generally I like the 1/8 due to the more intimate sound you get. Yet the sound staging and separation isn't as good as on the 1/4. More euphoric on the 1/8 IMO :).

so the dx100 is like a 3 daps in one brick. one sound for 1/4 plug, another sound from the 1/8 plug, and yet another sound from the lineout haha. but hey, as least its not one dap in 3 stacks xD

Come on, you can't leave us is such expectative without additional hints ... this is too much torture !

 

I would like to see a 128 Go internal memory, a better UI, a FASTER UI & boot time & iTune Sync facility ....  with the option to turn OFF what we want without the need for rooting.

As Fang has just kept me waiting SOooooooo long for the 901, the DX100 really tempts me

 

only one thing puts me off - a thread of 638 pages.

 

bottom line, is it a complicated purchase?

 

some of the stuff in this thread scares me away!
