It's on GB. You can't. I just jail-broke it and backed up the OS and deleted unnecessary things and froze others.

I'm spending some time with the Heir Rendition 1 amp and I'm starting to wish there was an option on the DX100 to control the headphone volume separately from the line-out volume. Sure would make A/B testing a lot easier.

Hi guys,
Do you find the DX100 still combines 2 different albums with the same name? e.g. I've got Journey's Greatest Hits, and Bangle's Greatest Hits and they merged.
Cheers

Hey figgie, can you update us on what's going on? Have you received your dx100 yet? Any impressions? Any idea of what else they're going to fix in the next firmware update?

What I really love about this is now we have more than 1 means of a support system for this unit. Both the manufacturer and the users. Very good indeed :). I can see this player nearing perfection very soon :).post #9127 of 1170711/19/12 at 9:03pm- robin1990

Normally DAP does not allow volume adjustment for line-out... wonder this is good or bad =/

I just sent Dmitry (creator of Neutron Player on Android) an email. Let's see if he'll reply back. :) I have a good feeling about Neutron and possibly Power Amp. If these 2 companies would support the DX100 24/192 playback without compromising the sound as it does with Androids Audio Driver, would you all consider purchasing their players? I sure would :). A while back I had purchased Neutron player but had issues with it constantly saying I had no license and it would cut out from audio playback. Also it was a bit laggy on the DX100. Dmitry surprisingly showed a lot of interest in the DX100 then and even went on to say Neutron is already capable of 24/192 support just Android native driver doesn't support it. So I think he will be quite helpful in this regard if ibasso will work with him :). Cheers.

I have bought Poweramp and Neutron already but I'd be happy to donate towards a DX100-specific build of either of them.

I think it may not even be necessary. Dmitry showed a lot of interest with me in past emails. Just at that point ibasso wasn't really showing interest in such support. But now they are by allowing their driver to be used by certain vendors. If they can provide it to Dmitry and Power Amp for sure we can have 2 excellent players. The problem with both players now is mainly due to having to use Androids crappy driver for 16/44 (which is also a limitation to the hardware). I also bet you this is what is causing the discrepancies in sound quality between the players :).post #9132 of 1170711/20/12 at 6:21amHas anyone here downloaded flac files of 24/192 from the Chesky brothers website. I listen mainly to jazz and I find a lot of these to sound too bright and digital sounding, not what I expected. I own the same recordings on cd and sacd and find them more organic and less bright. I may just have to download the cd's through apple losssless unto my dx-100.

I have this one on my DX100 in 24/192 and it sounds absolutely wonderful. You might, however, be accustomed to listening to those albums from a warmer source?

Sorry, I've not been following your previous posts but what headphones are you using? I have SACDs down-converted to 24/192 and I've also purchased 24/192 from HDTracks and like you I listen to jazz - more particularly late 50's/early 60's West Coast, and some bebop. I don't find the DX100 bright or digital sounding although I find it rather detailed and possibly analytical. My primary earphones/headphones are FitEar TG!334 and Fostex TH-900.
post #9135 of 1170711/20/12 at 7:15amI don't have a problem with the sound of the DX-100 as my regular cd's downloaded by apple lossless so great. I am talking about the sound from Cheskys website. My headphones are HE-500 and Ultrasone Sig. Pro.
