I have tagged my files to play by folders, and with album art embedded into the metadata of each song file with a cover.jpg in the folder file.

Thanks.

They are working on the folders and it does well with album art showing it on the album selection and the individual songs. It looks nice to my eye.

Read the thread please.

As far as I can remember, this was covered recently. Music files can be played by album if one presses and holds on the album and selects play, otherwise it will ignore the folder structures I believe. If their is metadata on the song, DX100 should find them, though it doesn't display them very large.

I have songs in dts wav, but as of now Media Monkey doesn't play them nicely. Foobar2k plays them better. Basically it's decoding 6 channels to 2 channels stereo, without throwing away the 4 other channels directly.

I placed my order for a DX100 just now! Wondering hows the power on the Dx100 compared to iBassos portable amps?

Hello all

Just to ask some question with regards to the DX100

1. after weeks with Ibasso , what is your feedback on DX100 , does it have a lot of bug ?

2. I am using Mac OS ( iTunes ) and have something like 90Gb of apple loselss file now ( ALAC) . when I open the track information , it is showing 16bit /44Khz format. . how do I transfer these files into DX100 ?

3. Does DX100 comes with installation disc that work with Mac OS ( lion X) ? so that I could connect DX100 to my Macbook ?

4. after I transfer the ALAC file to DX100 ( internal and external SD) , when playing out from DX100 . does it up sampling to 24bits/192Kps ?

if I have the above queries clear. pretty much I am all set to order one to replace my portable rig ( iPod + CLAS solo + ALO continental V2 Amp) .which I am very excited !!

Thanks

I certainly haven't read anywhere that it supports the "Folder.jpg" system. That should be easy enough to implement.

It's an Android device, so as far as an install disk, it shouldn't need one. Your computer will see it like an external drive, because that's the way one transfers files to the device. If their are any issues, you can just use a MicroSD card reader.

Their is not much documentation on the workings of DX100 in respect to how it plays the audio, but I have not read anything about it doing anything to any audio files when it comes to bit rate or sample rate. However, due to the hardware in the DX100 being able to play much more demanding files, I wouldn't be surprised if the DX100 plays them quite well, potentially better than other setups you have.

EDIT: I really wish their was more documentation on how iBasso went about making this device and its features. I wonder if they coded parts of the audio player in Assembly to ensure the best decoding of the audio or not. And also about upsampling, which could be implemented later if they dont have it based on the advanced hardware in the device.

The device is capable up upsamplimg your files just that it gives a more big and unnatural feel to the sound stage.

DX100 belt and travel cases that work very well and are extremely well made. The cost of each is 15 dollars. I found the travel case at Best Buy here in the US and the belt case at REI but the belt case can be bought on line from the manufacture at 1 dollar cheaper. The belt hook on the belt case rotates with extremely positive stops and is incredibly strong.

Carrying and travel case that I have found to work very well with the DX100. Both cases protect extremely well and are substantially made. The case that is carried on a belt, also is of an open design, allowing for ventilation as the DX100, with all of the electronics gets warm and this allows the unit to stay cool.

The volume and control and on off control or screen control, which can be implemented with the Android ap, unlock, is available. I use a right angle connector for monitors, and this comes out the bottom/side of the case. The side of the belt carrying case are elastic and the bottom 1 inch or 2cm's are open on each side.

The carrying case affords total protection for the DX100 and there is room for micro SD cards when placed in SD adapters and the top of the case has room for IEM's and I also have a set of Koss KSC35 open monitors, which sound excellent with the DX100. The case has double zippers and the panel that covers the DX100 is sewn in place on one side and held in place with velcro on the other. Where I store the DX100 at the top of the DX100, I keep a cloth that is for cleaning lenses and I use this to clean the screen. It all works great.

I actually emailed iBasso suggesting they should get in touch with Norêve, the luxury leather cases manufacturer for portable electronic devices. How many of us current and soon owners of DX100's would appreciate such a case? Most of us I'd think.

We should organise a group solicitation to Norêve for such a case.
