I'm looking for a clear, slightly warmish sound with good bass with absolutely zero distortion. It has to be a "musical" sound and they should be kind of genre master (at the moment i mainly listen to all kind of Folk, Pop, Indie, a lot of Stockfisch Records) As far as i'm reading your review, the 8.A's should be my route to go. Have you seen my signature? DX100 + 8.A is magical... and I do believe the 8.A is exactly what you need. Musical and capable of handling ANYTHING you throw at them. They sound like the best of the LCD-2, HE-500 and D7000 all in one. 

 

Oh and they're $300 off right now, $975 in stead of the usual $1299. Still a hefty chunk of cash, but less than I paid...

I did a dummy order today, and there the price was still 1'299.-.
For 975.- i shouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger, shouldn't i?

I have the Westone ES5 and I find they are just too colored, too warm with my DX100. It's hard to know if the 8.A is similar and if so that is not what I'm looking for. The problem with in ears is the cost, impressions, and no resale value if you don't like them. At this point I think I'm just going to go with the best closed back over the ear portable headphone I can find.

Heir does reshells for only $70 so they do tend to hold their value better than most customs, but no matter what, it's still a hassle getting impressions done, shipping back and forth etc. That stuff kept me from getting customs for a while actually.

So was having problems with launcher, pressed the reset button and restarted Ibasso. Like half my tags work now. LOL ah well xP

Go into settings/ applications and clear Media Storage and Music player app. Then restart and let it reindex. Then everything should work again.

I've found that the battery drain slower at >90% and faster at <40%

Anyone notice about this as well?

Yes. To whoever does the battery tests, try it at 40% and see how quickly it goes down from there.

Battery life isn't as good as on other firmwares. Its around 6 hours and 23 minutes on constant playback for me. This is without touching the screen much at all. Still sounds good though :).

Ah well, you had a good run! Maybe we can share an apartment if my wife ever finds out the total price of my DX100 + 8.A rig...

 

Also, you know you're buying some serious kit when carbon fiber or wood face plates are included in the price... biggrin.gif

Anyone did comparison for both of the T1 and 8.A?
