I don't mind the looks of it. Swap that display with the one from the Colorfly C4 and I'd love if the DX100 was made like that - Nice physical buttons and all, that's the only thing I really miss with the DX100.

But if I turn off the screen there is a pop sound and it shut off the music. I have to press pause again to undo this or exit the player and not do what I initially did. I'm not sure if this could have anything to do with it? Could be the sleep mode messing up. But it is easily replicable if you pause the music during playback, then press the back button and then try to turn off the screen.

I have the same pop sound when turning the screen off with the player paused, but if I pause the song and press the back button it goes to the previous song. All this on 1.2.3

I ordered the DX100 and have a question. I am using the apple computer and wondering if Audirvana plus is compatible with it.

You shouldn't need to - when you plug the DX100 into the Mac (or any PC) it comes up with a prompt on the DX100 to go into USB Storage Mode - you press that and then the device mounts as an external drive and you can drag and drop all your files into it. I've been using iTunes just to edit/fix a few incorrect tags on some stuff which is already on the DX100 by dragging the files into iTunes, doing the tag-editing and then just removing it from the library - everything is then updated fine on the DX100. You can then just eject the drive, turn USB storage off on the DX100 and then I usually reboot it after which it's finished recompiling everything is as it should be. I don't see why Audirvana will be any different as the player is just appearing as a USB flash drive.

---------

I sat in bed for about 3 hours yesterday night listening to music and hearing things I'd never heard in tracks before - a combination of this thing and my new customs - loving it!

So far the only things I've encountered that are either annoying or weird are obviously:

a) the fade in at the start of tracks when selecting manually

b) I have both Discovery by Daft Punk, and Discovery by Mike Oldfield on the DX100 - when you go into either album it comes up with all the tracks from both artists. I just renamed one of them to Discovery! and that fixed it though.

c) when I search by artist and go into each one, sometimes the albums are ordered chronologically (i.e. how I put them on as I imported them earliest to latest), some are alphabetically sorted. I might see if this is just due to me using 'Sort By Name' inside some folders and not others

d) Occasionally I go into an album and all the tracks are in the wrong order... but then after a few seconds it all rearranges itself into the correct order - weird

e) Is that a rather perfectly placed matte screen protector on it? I'm not a fan of either the texture or the look of the anti-glare stuff

Other than that it's all good and I love what I'm hearing, happy camper etc, just a few tiny things to resolve that distract from a fairly transparent user experience (to me).

I don't like rock-box, I love it, but why do every single manufacturer disregard it as if it does not exist, do you think they are hiding something? I would buy the DX100 again, if a rock-box version came.

Now where do I get that sticker?

I agree, why do they not acknowledge and use Rockbox? To me, it is so much better than anything out there, crazy easy to update, many bells and whistles, that actually do something and just easy to use. It seems like a no brainer but maybe it is pride since they have to pay someone to do the software anyway and I don't think it would be cost. Maybe they don't feel they would have control over it and if something went wrong they would now have unhappy consumers. ?

...Just remembered, companies hate open source, they like closed, as to keep their secrets hidden (or bad coding.....).

I would like to give my regards and thanks to Figgie for all his work and effort and wish Ibasso would acknowledge his effort , with at least a nice email, or a small package to his door, with a ..ehm..DX100.

I wish Ibasso would have asked some other source for coding its player...its a shame...but I still consider the DX100's hardware=sound the best.

A small note aside. I have many , many Indian friends, and from whom I came to know that there are many software Indian companies that could have done the coding with a very cheap price.....but with excellent result.
