I'm not sure what apps I would need to put files on it via wifi.  It's drag and drop to load files via USB, very easy.  Also not sure what apps you'd need to stream music over the network.  Pandora works fine, although the volume control is problematic, it's much quieter in Pandora (the volume) vs. the music player.  I'm not experienced at all with Android, but there's certainly a lot of potential there.  Stuff like Angry Birds and World of Goo work fine.

To get the volume up when using Pandora (or any other website) you need to raise the media volume setting located in the global setting menu. It was set very low by default. I set mine to about 80% and the now the volume pretty much matches the player volume.

There is an app called "No Lock" which I have on my other Android devices. You can set it to bypass the lock screen, which is very handy.

Mischa, Thanks, again.  I will let you know once I get confirmation from these people.

Ron:  Are you planning on cutting the cat open and see if you can roll the opamps since it is a D12 amp?

What's the resolution of the display and did anyone test the integrated amp of the DX100 vs other mobile amps so far (except for Peter with the O2)?

I'm curious since I'm planning to get the Spiral Ears 5-way together with an Ibasso DX100 and probably (that's what I'm currently not sure about yet) an Ibasso PB2. If I get the PB2, can I run the whole thing in balanced mode then?

I also wonder if the high res music files Peter received on his DX100 were intentional and every buyer gets those. I'm always happy about some good high res music. :-)

Wanna know does it support playing with cue files?

Can I directly delete the songs inside the DX100?

You can use the file browser app to do all sorts of stuff, from snagging files from ftp and lan and all that, to deleting anything on the player.

I really doubt that using the DX100 with other gear is going to produce a substantial improvement...

I don't know how to open the DX100.  Popping out the 4 screws did nothing.

Ron, John, did you guys get any free files on your DX100?

It will not fit in your skinny jeans.  It barely fits in my fatty jeans.  And my hands are large.

Edit: My wife has informed me that my hands are really not all that big.  So much for that thought.

You are the chosen one. I didn't get any.

Whoa!!  This is a crazy transportable setup.  Even bigger, more transparent, and effortless.  Definitely a clear improvement over the DX100 on its own.  The DX100's headphone out is damn good, no doubt.  But the O2 is the best portable amp i've ever used by a long shot, beating the tar out of my topkit Pelican balanced mini amp by a huge margin.  So, it stands to reason this would sound good, and it does sound good.  Scoring an O2 only adds $150 to the cost of your DX100...why not try it?

I just realised that you actually tried the PB2 with the DX100. :-)

I haven't really read anything about the O2 so far ... I might have to check that one out. Or maybe I'll just delay it until later, seems like the DX100 is pretty good already alone and doesn't really need any support. Which amp is actually build into the DX100 out of curiosity? I can't seem to find the information.

Some people were saying the D12's amp is in it.  I'm not sure though.

Can't say that the Dx100 is getting "confused" on high res files.  I'll keep everyone posted, but I've listened to most of this crazy Chinese music that was on this player.

I read the thread but didn't see it...Does gapless playback work with any of the file types on the DX100?  I'm really mostly concerned with flac files.

Thanks for convincing me to resort to panhandling in order to get one of these (even if it is $30 too expensive...wink_face.gif).

Cheers!beerchug.gif

No, if you get the PB2, you will still need to get the DB2 and then Coax out of the DX100, then you'll have the whole thing in balance mode.  From the reviews, I am not sure you'll gain too much that way.

Sorry if this was answered in the other threads, but well....

Is the media player exclusive to the DX100, or is it something that can be downloaded from the market?

Thanks for the clarification. I thought there is an analog output on the DX100 that uses the internal dac and bypasses the dac section so I could use the DX100 alone on the go and bundle it with a good mobile dac if I'm around with my notebook. I don't like the idea of having to also get the DB2 in that case for a questionable improvement in sound quality compared to the whole extra price then (DB2+PB2+balanced cables) since the DX100 comes with a pretty good dac as well. At home I'll stick to my speakers + headphones anyways.

Would be nice if anyone could clarify the following (some have been posted above but nobody answered them yet, so I'll list them here that they are kinda bundled together):

- cue sheet support for flac files

- gapless playback

- display resolution

- bluetooth speed

You are indeed the chosen one. I just received my DX100 a couple of minutes ago and it is empty. No free songs.

The built is great and feels very solid in hand. Unfortunately, I can see that a fine thread was caught under the screen. Luckily, it is at the corner and invisible if I turn on the player.
