If it makes you feel any better mine is still sightseeing in Asia. It started in China, then went to Japan, then Taiwan. I am half expecting post cards of a lawn gnome listening to my DX100 to start arriving at my doorstep.

+1, but mine has now left Taiwan and is in...........

Anchorage, Alaska of all places - didn't realise that was a major North American hub  confused_face(1).gif

I also ordered 3 64gb micro SD cards and got a better deal in the US than here in Canada.  Those have gone from Newark to Memphis so actually now further away from me than when they started.

Lads, it can take 8 days to ship a simple package across N America. I know you're anxious for a new toy, but it really isn't worth getting in a tizzy over. Frankly 8 days isn't bad to ship around the world.

iBasso have some of the most impressive shipping times I've seen (with 4 different packages now).

{my opinion/impressions}

Gentlemen... I have had ample time to listen to my DX100 and I have to say... I am impressed. I found myself getting into music for the first time in a long time. Coming from the HM-801, I feel like some sort of EQ has been lifted and I can finally listen to music the way the musician/sound engineer/producer intended. I feel like I'm only starting to appreciate what my Westone 4's can do. Bass is much tighter than on the HM-801 (due to the reasonably low output impedance), the tone is wonderous, details many and articulate and everything just flows effortlessly.

I was listening to 'Only for the Lonely' by Frank Sinatra and the tone of his voice gave me shivers. I found myself getting lost in the music and lost in my thoughts and that's just while I was waiting for the bus.

Listening to 'Senses' by New Order (Movement album) I could follow and positionally pinpoint every tom hit during the roll.

Listening to 'Limehouse Blues' from Jazz at the Pawnshop, I felt like I was standing in the middle of a real jazz band in a quaint jazz club setting. Soundstage was very immersive.

Listening to 'Ocean Rain' by Echo & the Bunnymen, I felt like I finally listening to the mix the sound engineer wanted people to hear. Every sound, from treble to bass, was balanced in the mix and had it's own place.

Listening to 'Godzilla' by Blue Oyster Cult (and quite a few of their other offerings), the fuzzy distorted guitar sucked me in and I noticed for the first time the delay on the guitar that repeats the riff albeit at a lower volume with what sounds like a high pass filter over the top.

Also listened to Nine Inch Nails, Clark Terry, Cat Stevens, Chopin, Megadeth, Stan Getz and Baden Powell to great effect.

The main points that stand out for me are: I hear details, I hear sound stage, I hear beautiful tone, I hear balanced mixes, I hear beautiful music. I get the impression that the DX100 is transparent and I like that alot. I wish I could better word what I'm talking about but hopefully you guys will understand.

When I got into this hobby the end goal was to get a great sound to better appreciate the wonders of music. Right now I feel like I've achieved that goal with the DX100. It's given me peace of mind and taken the focus off the gear and back onto the music which is something I've missed for a long time. My next step is an overkill pair of custom SE 5-way Ref's (hopefully ^.^) and with that I feel like I'll be done for good.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've experienced one bug so far. I was listening to music while flicking through the Gallery out of curiosity. The players screen went black and there was a pop. The track then changed to a different one and the start up 'iBasso' logo popped up on screen.

I'm personally quite happy with the UI. The screen could be a little more sensitive (and less ...cloudy/matte?) but I don't really care. It's useable and the sound it kicks out is incredible. Battery life was also decent.

Good to see you like it Temporaryname. You hit the nail on the head for me too in that you forget about the "gear quest" and fall into the music. The saving grace for DX100 is the sq... For me it forgives the tiny imperfections of Android

The IE80s would benefit from the DX100 but the DX100 is capable of driving much harder to drive headphones/IEMs. The advantage of the BA is it's portability. In a sense it is also a little easier to use than the DX100 when you take into account the button functionality.

Generalizing somewhat, the DX100 is the best sounding DAP currently availablewink_face.gif.  Nothing sounds bad on it, IEMs or Cans, and certainly some combinations are stunningL3000.gifksc75smile.gif

My Custom TF10s sounded great on the DX100 but I think the DX100 has a lot more potential. I honestly didn't use the TF10s for much else than gaming...

Light at the end of the tunnel....

Well finally my DX100 has made it to my local delivery office!.....at stage 14!

I'm still peeved with DHL though as it arrived at the depot at 8.07am today, and the gits didn't stick it on the van for delivery today, bastards!...so It's gonna be Monday for me, and a long weekend!

Just be glad your unit wasn't DOA and you had to suffer for a month and a half without your unit :P
