Just thinking, if all DX100 v1 were sent back for upgrade, there will not be direct comparison between v1 and v2.

Pretty sure a mod to the wifi doesn't qualify as it being "V2". Perhaps if they go into a little more depth to explain what the deal is.
Hello all
I am among one of the 2nd batch pre-order people.
got Email update from Ibasso confirming that they will be on schedule to ship from 10Mar onwards for the 2nd batch .
My main intention to get the DX100 is to downsize my portable rig from IPOD Classic>CLAS Solo> ALO continental V2 to just DX100 .
it is really neat that DX100 have both 1/4" and 1/8" connection for headphone . very thoughtful on their end.
For 1/8" connection , I plan to use Ultrasone Edition 8 / DT1350 where I am sure it would not be a problem for DX100 Amp to drive it well and with authority .
For 1/4" connection , I really hope that DX100 could make LCD2-2 and HE500 sings ..............
otherwise , backup plan is to line out to a portable amp ( NECO SOUNDLAB V3 portable amp) to boost the power ..
Any 1st batch owner have experience on DX100 on the above headphone ?
Please share...
Thanks
Raymond

I nearly ordered one, then saw a crappy video on You Tube of it
Email? Apps? Calendar? Contacts?
Do these people not realise we already have a mobile that does all of this?
Why on earth would people use this for email?
I am STILL waiting for someone who can make a great machine with the emphasis on the sound, not on GUI and Apps etc.
Wow. My crappy Youtube video perhaps?
Yes, it has Android. As opposed to the primitive OS that pretty much every other "audiophile" player has. You can put whatever apps you want on it. And yes, I can do everything a phone does, just about, with it, if I want to. It's not that the emphasis isn't on the sound. iBasso went balls to the wall to give this thing the best portable DAC and amp I've ever heard. It drives the bejeezus out of the LCD3. And the consensus is universal. The DX100 can just do other stuff as a side effect of it having an open operating system. They didn't just say "Oh derp we're going to split it equally between apps and sound quality, people have to play Angry Birds on our DAP too you know."
The DX100 is pretty big, but it's not bigger than the Hifiman flagship. It has a real OS and can power all headphones rather than requiring modules for this and that. For most people it's a no brainer. A "snazzy" reskinned look on a future Hifiman player doesn't have the potential and ease of use that Android has. Like the Pandora radio, super easy updates, and customizability. The DX100 can do just about anything because of its hardware and software, if it's called upon to do it.
maybe - were you constantly sniffing throughout?
BLOW YOUR NOSE
again who will use this for email or keeping a calendar? pointless
like having an coffee machine on a motorbike

I hope turokrocks was not talking about me. I never said it was a bad thing it is not a phone, just that if it had insane battery life. it would be able to handle an antenna and make it the ultimate device.
iBasso has gone above and beyond with the player, if they are recalling the first 40 devices and making tweaks, as well as the functionality upgrades they made based on requests. The DX100 looks like it's going to be the device to beat
No,No not you, you are, and always will be my Head-fi friend
It just happened to come part of the Android parcel so no effort was used to make it do it.
Why is it such a turn off that it can do these things if one desires to do so if it didn't require any effort to have it and don't compromise sq ?
You do rather come across somewhat rude and childish.
Dude, Peter has allergy, and he was out of medicine during the video, and you are missing the point. I have a Galaxy Note, so it means I have/will to use everything ? This is a DAP with extra stuff for free with a very very stable OS. Cheers mate.
it's just an icing on the cake dude. so why do you keep on whining about the email or other stuffs? i hate android, but for the sake of a good DAP i bought DX100. i know i will not use the email function cause i have my iPad and iPhone but it can be useful if i need it to. what a troll.
Actually, since I've renounced using a cell phone, I actually do appreciate the calendar, email/phone/address-book features. That was one of the reasons I was interested in the Touch 64GB over the Classic 160GB when considering the HP-P1 + iPod originally...
Now this has Android, 64GB internal + 64GB FAT32 formatted µSDXC memory support, high SQ, a ø6.3mm jack, the ability to drive sensitive IEM's, and last but not least, gap-less! Fantabulous.

They are personal inquires. Please don't feel left out. We are all together on this. :^)
