Out of curiosity, what is the best way to sync a DX100 with a Mac and iTunes library?
Will something like Doubletwist work?
And make the experience of using a DX100 similar to an iPod?

Cheers!

Decided to give 1.2.7 a go after being on 1.4.3 since I owned it. I gotta say its kind of hard to compare the sound quality. I guess if I am hearing any big difference it is that 1.2.7 sounds slightly smoother with less sibilance.

However UI wise 1.2.7 I cannot say that it is all that bad. The boot up time from shutdown is longer, but once you get it going it feels the same to me.

I really need to play with my tagging, and get it all cleaned up. I am pretty sure my DX100 is getting caught on some tags as it does not always index correctly after booting up, and other times it indexes instantly. I just really do not want to go back and tag approximately 3300 songs.

In my mind the low is tighter and mids and highs less sibilance with the FW 1.42.
I like the low of the FW 1.27 smoother and deeper and prefer the mids/high of the FW 1.42.

For me the FW 1.42 sounds more balanced

But it very depends with the headphone you are pairing with.

My setup : DX100 FW 1.27/Portaphile 627X/Grado PS1000/ATH-W3000ANV

I am afraid there is no way to use it like an idevice.

Ibasso DX100 is build around android.

From a sound quality stand point, what is better?

iPod -> HP-P1 -> UE900

DX100 -> UE900

Anyone here have experience with both the DX100 and HP-P1?

Also, how are the latest firmwares of the DX100? Still buggy reading itunes Alac files with artwork and tags?

Cheers!

With clean tags and album art embedded per track, no hiccups, Alac included. I drag and drop from iTunes without any problem.

Well its finally here- http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IIJ6W4S/ref=pe_385040_30332200_pe_309540_26725410_item

Perfect timing too. I only have about 5.7gb left on my 64gb SD and 12gb on my internal storage. Now I can combine both, and only have to pick one directory (I only use folders/file names because the tagging nonsense irritates me a bit).

I am curious if this will decrease my media scanning time or increase it. As it would only have to scan 1 directory and it would remove having a lot of memory stuffed onto internal storage. Granted it would have more memory to scan on the 128gb card.

The 64gb card is going into my back up and running music player the clip zip.

Let us know what you think of the card's speed.  Sometimes the bigger cards end up slower even though the specs don't always say so.

Shouldn't notice a speed difference, the card in the picture had a speed value of ten, which is fast, if ever in doubt, look for the number within a partial circle on flash memory, compare to your old one, higher number equals faster speed

 I hear you! I have everything organized neatly in folders but still have a lot of tags because the ripping program I was using did it automaticaly. Some day I will remove all the tags, but it's too much work.

I don't know about this card, it would be awesome to have 180+ Gb on the dx but it can't even scan my 64Gb card correctly. I think it would fail to scan or just crash.

But hey I hope I'm wrong! Please share with us how it goes!

Cheers

I'm also curious if that 128gb card will work, do post and let us know.

It should work. Ibasso already stated it will support up to 2tb micro sd cards (the theoretical limit). People are already using regular SD adapters to get more memory through the port.

Its just a matter of how fast it will be. Either way I can post my impressions, but its not supposed to ship for another 2 weeks or so.

Good to know, do post your impression when you have the chance.

Little update: Norêve has made their leather universal case for PDA - Large - Tradition available again, which happens to fit the DX100 / HDP-R10 perfectly.

Edit: just got a new email update: false alert, only a few left, and not put back into production mad.gif
