iBasso DX100:24 bit for bit, PG 1> Reviews & Impressions, Downloads, VIDEO, NEW Firmware 1.4.2. - Page 790

I agree. I got the unit off of a head-fi'er on here, not directly from iBasso. These problems are disturbing to say the least.

But iBasso is sending a new one out today so all's well that ends well. I might use the RWAK for back and forth to work and the DX100 for home use then.

AK120 just released DSD support with firmware 1.3

Wonder if Ibasso would match this

i might have just bricked dx100. the screen is not responding. the volume button works, the lock button works. but the screen touch is not working.

everytime when i  click the lock button, the screen turns on but dat's all....do i need to drain out the battery and try to workout something?

Both the DX100 and AK100 are nice to use. To me, the DX100 is superior in sound in all ways. I have never had a problem with my DX100 and would never consider having the AK100 over it, even though my AK100 is modified and sounds better than the stock model.

Just to chime in - My DX100 is from the second batch, and wifi won't turn on at all, just says "error" when I try to enable wifi. Been through all the firwares, tried all the tricks. Then I sent it in for repair, got it back real fast and everything worked for a while. Now it's back to "error" when I try to turn on wifi. I don't ever use wifi for anything, it just bugs me that something isn't working as it should. I guess I could send it in a second time but being without my DX100, even if it's just for a week, is really not something I want to do!

My point exactly.

Wifi issue here

but despite the fact that I got the unit used, Ibasso is still willing to check it , which I am grateful.

When a company is willing to stand by their products regardless of who has owned it, as long as it is within warranty period, you have to give them credit for that

Bravo Basso!!!!!!

1P2 sounds incredible with DX100

Yeah i got my DX100 usesd and they're sending me a new one. They do stand by their product, but the problem is...why does a product that is this expensive have these issues? This isn't a few out of many, this is many out of many. The common problems of wifi, load freezing, long boot times are all adroid based. With the money they charge for the unit, they should at least have someone on staff checking for these common issues before the item ships.

However, it's an example of the way business has changed. It's cheaper to just ship the finished units without a quality control and deal with those who send the units back than to hire someone.

I think that's a bit harsh. From my take on the wifi issue most owners don't have a problem initially but seems to surface after some time. My own experience with this has been to reset the DX and that would suggest its a OS or FW issue, not hardware. I also wonder how many have problems after loading other third party apps vs leaving bog standard? Either way I doubt any QC check would show up these problems.

As I understand it, much of the hardware if not the entire device is made by HTC for iBasso. I think HTC has pretty good QC from my understanding and certainly have much experience at making private label devices. But the core hardware of the DX is geared around its music player rather than other features, and in that regard it is amongst the best if not the best portable DAP in terms of SQ.

Perhaps iBasso would be best to disable all this extra stuff and leave it just a DAP like its main competitors..

Will get a second hand dx-100 this week. Just hope ok sound wise. Don't care about wifi works or not, it's a just portable music player .
