Bug: Major (sorry about all the edits! Trying to narrow down the issue)
i am getting music to stop. Trying to figure what the cause is. I exited the application and now it does not happen. Seems to only happen within the application AFTER it gets to the last song of a folder then it continues until you press the setting button and EXIT the application. When you play from the widget (the screen player and not the full UI) at that point it does not do it.
Can anyone else test this (looking for reproducable).
I have been able to reproduce this problem by selecting "Albums/Play All" using the advance UI player. After a bit of time with the display off, the music stops with a click. I changed my screen time-out to "Never", but this has made no difference and the player will stop even if I turn the display off manually. Play resumes as soon as I briefly press the "On/Off/Sleep" switch.
The problem seems to be related to a "sleep" situation with the advanced UI, as the player doesn't seem to have these stops as long as the screen display is on.
I send an email to iBasso describing the issue and how to reproduce it. Hopefully, they can address this in a timely manner.

I can't report on the new firmware, but I can share that I tried the Tralucent T-1 amp as per lee730's recommendation. And it is quite an amazing amp for the price, and a definite upgrade over the amp in the DX100. However, I also happened to be trying a used Continental V2 that I got on here for a good price. And yes the $529 amp is even better than the $229 T1. No surprise there given the much lower price of the T1, but the surprise is how close the T1 came to the ALO tube amp. Clarity and the ability to sort out complex music was the same on both amps. The Continental just has a certain fullness and body to the sound that the T1 can't quite match, although in most respects they are incredibly close, and the T1 actually has a very nice tone itself, just not as full and dense as the tube amp. If the Continental is out of your budget, then I would certainly recommened giving the T1 a try. Also I was using them both with the HD650s which probably is not an ideal match for the T1. With an easier to drive headphone, the differences might be even less than what I heard.

For the people who encountering the random music paused/stopped issue, do you tried to do factory reset? I've did mine last night and the issue don't reproduce until my battery dies off.. I found that issue but I couldn't reproduce the issue.

Yeah that could be a possible solution. Seems many have a bad habit of not doing a factory reset once they finish updating the player. If not you carry over other settings from the previous firmware and it can conflict....post #10118 of 116841/24/13 at 6:42pm- robin1990

I also just completed a factory reset. So far, so good! Usually I do a factory reset following a firmware update but this time I forgot. It seems that the reset resolves this issue completely.

I have an issue sometimes, happened before the upgrade also: when I put the DX100 in my coat pocket on the go, the music sometimes skips. I have no idea why. The screen is turned off. Did it happen to any of you guys ?

Using a pair of JH16 + connector to listen to the DX100. I have the JH-3a but I want to hear the DX100..
They definetly upped the lower frequencies. from 35hz and below.
the high frequencies stay the same.
Ran some Dream Theater - Live at Bodakan disc 1,2,3... Zero (yes that means NO gaps, None, zip, zilch, nada) gaps from track to track (easy to detect as the crowd tend to yell from track to track and there was never a yell, silence, yell.. it was smooth as silk with no gaps at all.. TRUELLY gapless! ;) ).
The slow change from track to track. Has to take place. That is where they are doing the bitdepth/freq rate compare. Takes a bit to do that.
Manually selecting a track in the same album. No issues with fade in/out. - Fixed!
Manually selecting track in a different album/ same artist. ZERO fade in. No clicks or pops. -Fixed!
Manually selecting track in a different album/ different artist. No fade in issues. - Fixd
Manually selecting track in a differet album/ Different artist/ Different Bit Depth (Van Halen -1984 @ 24 bit) - Very very slight fade in. Almost unnoticeable. Calling it fixed!
iBasso - GREAT job in fixing the minor issues. The DX100 is really polished. :
The sorting is fixed.
I am now getting the correct directories when the albums happen to be named the same by differnt artist.
Under all songs, if you click the settings icon on the bottom. you can sort ALL songs by title, album, artist and date added.
Artist sort. Still getting the sort on the Artist tag instead of Album Artist. Got lots of music spread everywhere (Looking at you Santana!!!). Not fixed.
Media search during bootup - Faster than before.
Cover art... not tested.
search works great... Minor note: Pressing the Enter button on the keyboard puts a carriage return. Might want to fix to do the search when the enter is pressed.
downgrading rating to: C...see post 10105
I do NOT want to sort on Album Artist. Furthermore, none of my files have this field populated. What happens if the software tries to sort on Album Artist and all of the files have no information in this field?

I'm wondering how I, and others can describe the gapless issue as "not good at all" and figgie can describe it as "TRUELLY gapless!" Is the discrepancy just a matter of terminology? Are you using the cross-fade feature that they label as "Gapless". This is a case where iBasso just used the wrong English word in the UI. What they call Gapless is really what everyone else would call cross-fade. Since cross-fade is not a feature I'm interested in with my music I leave that set to "Native play". And in that mode there is NO gapless playback. I don't want cross-fade; I want gapless.
And saying "the sorting is fixed" is not completely accurate, either. Tracks in playlists are now backwards and there is no ability to re-sort. And you cannot re-sort while looking at tracks in an album. For sorting to be 'fixed' I would need the ability to re-sort while viewing tracks in Directory, Playlists, Album, Artists, etc. (A-Z and Z-A). I never use the All Music list.

Forgot to do that this time around, thanks gents! :)
Edited by Randall DZM - 1/24/13 at 8:47pmpost #10125 of 116841/24/13 at 8:46pmIs there a location on dx100 where you can find out the current firmware build? I just want to make sure I did this update right, following the steps outlined here for updating.
