Front Panel Express has given away 11 or 12 amps to us Head-fier's at the meets held there at their facility. Did not find a thread so thought I would get one going. Still very anxious to hear impressions of the amp given away yesterday at the Seattle Meet at Front Panel Express.

Yup, I'm one of the lucky few to own this bad boy. Not listened yet but when I do I'll give some of my non expert impressions. I'll take some pics of it to share tomorrow.

EDIT: Added a couple pics. Oh, and Ive had a listen with the MS1000 and it sounds superb. More listening to come :)

I got one also. I actually plugged it in last night, it has some pretty good power to it, actually powers my LCD-2 (not as good as some but wow)! I'm running it in a bit right now, will give some impressions on it once I get a chance to try it out some more.

Hi Paul..

Any chance another (perhaps limited) run of the amps will be made and available for sale?

I have the worst luck when it comes to raffles..

There will certainly be another raffle at the next meet, though I think we will split the difference between 2010 (1 awesome amp) and the ten I built for this go round.

I can also share the PCB express design also if you wanted to order boards and build one.

Listening to the amp right now. Hooked up to my Ipod and some HD280's. Listening to AC/DC For those about to rock. I can hear everything. Great clarity and detail. Bass is not bloated. Awesome Raffle prize.

Just found out that Ken at Revolution Power has the Mickey Mouse Plug to IEC adapter for about 5 bucks each. So you can hook up some nice power cords to the amp.

PB:  You are offering "the PCB Express design if you wanted to order boards and build one"....well, given I've never so much as soldered lead to a wire in my life and probably could not DIY a paper airplane, how hard is it to build one and would you also supply the casing and parts list?  How much $$ would it be and how long would it take to finish one myself?

Step by step instructions, too?

Hey Wharfrat,

You can e-mail me at work and I can send you the express PCB file.  The resistor values are labelled on the Express PCB file itself, I can make a little notepad file with a list of the transistors.

Step by step instructions would take a bit of time.  Other than stuffing in the parts, there is an input jack, output jack, and the power transformer, so it's not a bad DIY project.

Paul...thanks!

Please PM me with your email address and we will go from there. I don't want to derail the appreciation thread...Have to admit the build you did really hooked me...might as well make it my first DIY try.  I have two mint condition copper cases about the size of a Bottlehead amp that I bought on e-Bay from a DIYer in Canada which I eventually hope to bring into a custom build with Doc B.'s help so might as well start out simple and small...
